Washi Tape Simple Storage Tip!

I have found a new obsession, aside from the one I have with the new SHEER PERFECTION VELLUM… and it’s with my WASHI TAPE!  I can’t get enough of this stuff and it’s so versatile that I have to have it… no matter the color, they are just awesome… but they were creating quite the cluttered pile on my desk… which gives me anxiety.  Then the other day I say a fellow Demo on instagram show how she stores hers and my brain about exploded!

I was searching for one of those cute little tape dispensers that were large enough to house ALL of my rolls, and I have a lot.  Then I started thinking… where would I put that huge dispenser that someone has made??  Then when I saw this idea I knew this was the perfect answer!

This was the perfect answer!  Thanks a million Patty Benete for sharing your genius.  She liked to store them according to the groups they are sold in, for instance… all the Stacked With Love tapes went together and so on.  I however see things in color… so I thought it made more sense for me to store them according to their colors.  I can’t even tell you how this makes me feel… it’s almost like I took a Xanax… AAAhhhhhhhhh (no lie, this gives me all kinds of weird comfort.) :-)

Edited 3/15/15- Ooppsss, I messed up on a few of my facts, sorry :-)

So I went to my local office supply store and got me the biggest binder rings I could get, these are 10″ 3″ rings and they hinge open and closed for easy access (there are 10 in a pack).  Then I started thinking… how am I going to “store” them though… I mean I only have SO much surface space, and I hate to show you how packed my china cabinets are with stamps and tools.  If you are like me when it’s out-a-sight… out-a-mind… so then I started thinking, it has to be somewhere I will see it so I will use it.

It came to me…

I would hang them from the side of my desk. Pure genius, I have to admit!  I love how they are out of the way but just close enough to grab and put to good use.  I don’t show this but on the other side there are 4 more large rings with tons of tapes, it looks like a candy store! Bwahahahaha!!!

I hung them with my most FAVE tool, 3M command strip hooks.  I hoard those too, in all sizes- cause you never know when you are going to need to hang something…

I just LOVE how it all turned out and looks… so clean, so organized, yet so colorful and honestly it inspires me too, when I see all that organized color it makes me so happy.  It’s the little things I guess??

  1. I keep mine in a clip-shut Sterilite mini box. It’s shallow and fits the shelves in my Michaels craft storage cubes. I also love the Command line – I have a drawer in one of my units labeled Command and it’s all extra strips and clips!
