Tape It Candles for Bring on The Cake Birthday Card

I have to tell you that one of the reasons I love making my own HANDMADE cards is always having something on hand when I need it. So when I decided to create today’s card I made a few of them so I would have them when I needed them.  I had a little Birthday Party for a fellow Cardio Groove friend from the gym, Alexis, and she is turning 30 so I decided to create todays card with her in mind.
A little candles for your cake?

I used one of my other FAV sets to create this card, TAPE IT.  I used the different patterns of the tape images to create the candles and the sentiment flag is made with the BRING ON THE CAKE set.  I love that set, there are SO many sentiments and fonts for Birthdays- it’s awesome!  I then used the BIRD PUNCH to create the flames for the candle.  I colored in some Saffron card stock using my crushed curry and calypso markers, then covered the entire flame with DAZZLING DETAILS!

The inside of the cake is by far the funniest! I used a sentiment from the YIPPIE-SKIPPEE stamp set.  I felt it appropriate since Alexis and I work out together that the inside sentiment befitting to that!

And, today is the first so you know what that means… it’s time for another challenge over at Stampin’ Celebration!  I am so loving this color combo.  So that is what I decided to focus on for this card, the green and the purple look so great together.  I incorporated the polka-dots into my candles and then a few other textures using my stamps and embossing folders.
Then I decided to use the sketch provided by Case This Sketch
