I have been trying like a mad woman to get back on track since returning from Orlando where I attended the annual Leadership Conference with Stampin’ Up! This event is always one that I enjoy because aside from it being FUN (for lots of reasons) I also learn a TON! I get new business and creative ideas and I come back recharged and ready to offer my stampers lots of awesome things. This year was no different, however I felt like once I returned I hit the ground running and haven’t looked up since… SO let’s look back, want to see??
There were a few of my Stamping Buddies that couldn’t make the Conference, but that wasn’t going to stop me from having a good time with them. I took plenty of pics with my friends here at Leadership!
Of course the event always begins with a welcome from our fearless leader, Shelli Gardner. She had LOTS to talk about and share… much of which I posted immediately to Facebook, if you missed my updates there you can see them on my Instagram too! She announced on one of the days that she and her husband would be leaving soon to serve a full-time LDS Sr. Mission. She isn’t sure where but I can’t wait to see. I always LOVE how Stampin’ Up! creates the coolest atmosphere with their stage design… SO MUCH EYE CANDY!!
Well, look who we ran into… YEP! We had a MR. 305 sighting! He was actually one of our presenters at Leadership, and no he isn’t really Mr. Worldwide, A.K.A. Pit Bull– but he sure did resemble him so I just had to take a pic. The funniest thing was, after I took this and posted it immediately to Facebook- the post BLEW UP! I had all kinds of people saying that they didn’t realize he was so short… and was that really him?? I about died… I honestly don’t know if SU would ever pay the kind of $$ that PitBull would require to attend or perform at a Stamping Conference- bwahahahahha!! Jim Pitt, that’s his real name, I am sure was completely annoyed with me because every time we ran into him we (and by we I mean, ME!) yelled out MR. 305, MR. WORLDWIDE… the first time was fun… not sure why I couldn’t find him again after the 5th…
I thought this was SO funny… every time a cool project or slide came up you would see a giant sea of cell phone lights appear- it reminded me of hanging out by the lake as a kid when all the lightening bugs would appear. We would smash them all over our skin and run around like crazy people as we glowed in the dark… Hmmmm, I should try that at Leadership next time. I wonder how painful it is to smash and rub smart phone onto your body?
If you don’t know, my daughter name is Marlowe… so of course I had to take a pic of her Tavern here in FL. I sent this to her and she asked what a Tavern was… OK- so my kids are a bit sheltered, LOL!! And as you may know I have a syndrome… it’s called #CantTakeANormalPhoto syndrome… it’s incurable.
Soooo…. as we were driving around Orlando after the days were done we came across this gift shop… yes it says that the BEST GIFTS are here. The name of the place is… get ready for it… GIFT LAND. Yeah, that’s right- this haunted house looking building actually is a gift shop. So we stopped and went in… YEP, it’s a haunted house! It smells like dust, moth balls, mildew, and crystal meth all rolled into one. Not to mention the LAYER of dust on the “souvenirs” in the shop was causing me to dry heave and I think I threw up in my mouth a little… we bought a couple things and left. Bwahahahha- kidding. I went through a Haz-Mat scrub down in the parking lot!
Of course the display boards were awesome, that is always a highlight. I love getting inspiration using the different stamps and supplies, most of which I don’t own… yet! I always end up returning home with a list of MUST HAVE or better known as my ABSOLUTELY NEED OR WILL DIE items on it.
I am in LOVE with this simple Sale-A-Bration set and had to snag a shot of all the creative ideas that were created with the BEST DAY EVER set.
WOW, that’s a lot to cover… but it’s not the best parts… that was Managers Reception. I will share that with you tomorrow, cause I need to actually get my kids to school- LOL!! I have to say that attending these events, Leadership Conference and Convention, is one of the biggest perks that we as Demonstrators get. They are filled with information and business building tools not to mention great ideas that we can come back and share with our stampers. It’s awesome, PLUS you get to connect with fellow Demo’s that you only get to see at these events. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy having those who follow my blog come up and tell me how much they appreciate my blog and the things I share. I love meeting you all in person!
If you have ever considered or thought about becoming a Demonstrator, you should. Even if in the beginning the only person you sell to is yourself- everyone starts somewhere. I joined Stampin’ Up! simply for the discount it gave me, because I loved playing with paper and ink. Then as I saw how I could make money at this crazy craft I transitioned from my office job to what I call now my Pajama job. This PJ thing is SOOOO much better! I have talked about the benefits of being a Demo lots of times before, check out THIS POST where I discuss more in detail about the life changing decision it was for me and might be for you. I would LOVE for you to join my family of Demos when you join Stampin’ Up! We are a tight but unruly crew
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see my highlights of the MANAGERS RECEPTION and all the shenanigans that went down there. Don’t forget to get in on my creative classes this month too… Fab. will be over before you know it.
