Soup, It’s Good for the Soul

My kids are finally in bed and I can post my newest project. I stayed up late AGAIN last night trying to finish these for Saturday. I completed the finishing touches this morning and they are FINALLY done! Here is my attempt at Snowman Soup…

I have 2 different color mugs a real pretty olive green color and a cream/bone color. I had already adhered the Decor Elements Bulk Buy flowers to these mugs and filled with candy for another show, and thought I would reuse the un-sold ones for the holidays. Rather than peeling off ALL the flowers I took my crystal effects and some Cosmo glitter and made (what hopefully looks like) snow flakes on them.
I color coordinated the snowmen to their perspective mugs. So for some of the mugs I used Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, and Dusty Durango to color in the snowmen. For the other mugs I used Real Red, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie.

In each of the mugs I included 1 package of Hot Coco Mix, (in the cello bag) Mini Chocolate Chip Morsels, Mini Marshmallows, 2 Mini Candy Canes, and a Snowman Soup Poem to complete the project. I think these turned out pretty well…I just don’t know how to package them for transportation. I am going to have to figure something out.

I think my favorite color combo is the Melon Mambo, I remember a few years ago Stampin‘ Up! had some Christmas paper that was not your traditional Christmas colors. That package of Designer Series Paper was more along the lines of pinks, aqua’s, limes and so on. I love those colors and it gives a twist to the traditional Holiday feel for me. Plus they are just fun uplifting colors, where for me the more traditional Christmas colors are just cozier and warmer feeling to me. Some times I want cozy, and sometimes I want unruly and FUN!

Here is a up close look at the poem itself. Can you tell I really LOVE this font. Yep, it is the same one I used on the Reindeer POOP Poem. I couldn’t find the scallop square the PERFECT size for this project, so I took the Scallop Square Die (115950) and cut a straight line in between one of the scallops and made it smaller/shorter by overlapping some of the scallops and gluing it down onto itself. It was easy and you cant even tell that is what I did.

I hope you enjoyed tonight’s project and please LEAVE ME A COMMENT letting me know what you think. I am really hoping that I can complete my project for you tomorrow in time to post it tomorrow. I can’t do a late night tonight as my Hubby is home from travel and I really want some time with him…so we will see how fast I can work tomorrow. So until then ~TTFN
