In yesterday’s post I share two simple BUT effective stamping tips that I used to create today’s’ project for the Stampin’ Celebration Sketch Challenge, I am so glad that so many of you found it helpful and I look forward to sharing SO many more with you!! I love putting elements of my cards on in ways that are unexpected or how some may think is impossible. If you missed yesterdays post you can check it out HERE.
Now, onto the subject at hand, the much anticipated project… I made this card for a special someone, my dear BSF (best stamping friend) Erica Cerwin!!
I LOVE the CRAZY, MIXED UP set, and sadly it’s retiring so if you like it- grab it while you can!! I know that this set was meant as more of a LOVE set, but I thought that this card kind of summed up our friendship, much like this pic (this pic cracks me up, if you knew the story behind it you would LAUGH!!!) But that’s a story for Erica to share, not me…
I digress… check out the FUN sketch that we got to work with this month-
I decided to FLIP this sketch on its side and create my card, I also decided to replace the “hearts” in the blender with something more “telling” of ME- RHINESTONES!!
I loved the little flags along the top of my card, and they were even better once I covered them with DAZZLING DETAILS!! I have ANOTHER SIMPLE TIP for you today as well- KEEP YOUR THIN STRIPS AS SCRAP. Creating flags like this are a snap when you have tons of strip scraps… simply flag the end with a pair of scissors and BAM you have all different widths of flags!
I loved making this card, pop over and play along it’s super simple and SO much fun. Plus its awesome the different bits of inspiration you get from all the other players and design team members. Come one… take just a few minuets select a could colors (or use the ones I did to make it even easier- Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Smokey Slate) and pull together some card stock and “GET AT IT” Can’t wait to have you play along!!
