HAPPY FATHER’S DAY to all you Dads today, and in the spirit of today I have a FUN card to share with you using some awesome Stampin’ Up! stamps and NEW punches. This card was created with a sketch as my inspiration- thanks to Stampin’ Celebrations, but I put a little twist on it- literally.
For all you Dads- I HOPE IT’S AN AWESOME DAY!
I worked with this sketch from Stampin’ Celebrations
I wanted a fun pattern on the back circular layer but wanted to do something a little different… so I used some MARKERS and a CLEAR BLOCK. The technique is simple, color on the clear block (I layered Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, and Blackberry Bliss) like literally scribble on the block. Then place the cardstock onto the inked block then brayer the top to transfer the ink onto the cardstock.
I embossed the background or the card base with the ARROWS FOLDER for some added coordinating texture, I also embossed the stitched arrows together for a fun take on the sketch. I tried to achieve a monochromatic masculine card with several shades of color. I punched out arrows from the WHAT’S UP PUNCH using Wisteria Wonder, Rich Razzleberry, and Blackberry Bliss. Then I put together Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, and Basic Black along with Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay.
Then to finally put the perfect sentiment onto the card, and I didn’t want the traditional HAPPY FATHER’S DAY either. I wanted something a little more fun and versatile. I put together a few words from the ENDLESS BIRTHDAY’S PHOTOPOLYMER SET (sorry, this set sold out in less than 2 weeks)
Give yourself a little challenge today, while Dad/Husbands nap you can try a little challenge of your own. Give the sketch a go and share with the rest of the Stampin’ Celebrations Design Team. I can’t wait to see what you have to share. I have a FUN game that I am unveiling tomorrow, you will absolutely come back tomorrow to get all the details for that… oh and there will be prizes involved!!! WHOOHOO!!
