Rootin’ Tootin’ Yee-Haw Is How We Do!

ALL THE BEST-ES LIVE IN TEXAS, lol!! Ok, so I don’t truly believe that but thought it was pretty funny when I came up with it in my head… and for those of you who aren’t married to a George Straight die hard, then you wouldn’t know he sings a song called “All My Ex-s Live In TX”.  So clearly I wasn’t THAT creative with the recreation.

I was given the assignment recently to create a “Texas” themed card by a friend of mine.  We have a welcome lunch next week for my Fitness Instructors Mom who just moved to San Antonio from CA.  We want to welcome her in true TX style, so we are all bringing native foods for her to experience… there will be a lot of spice!!  As part of this party we are giving her a basket filled with TX staples and goodies, and to accompany the basket… this perfectly themed card using YEE-HAW from Stampin’ Up!

Yee-Haw Set for a New Texan by http://www.handstampedstyle.com

I LOVE this set, YEE-HAW, probably because it comes in handy for situations like this.  I designed this card using the sketch we are working with this month from Stampin’ Celebration, check it out- it’s super fun!!

I decided that the little sentiment area would be a great place for a lasso, oh and in case you hadn’t noticed- the lasso is glittered out!!  Because what newly deemed cowgirl can respectfully call herself a cowgirl without a glittery lasso??  I don’t think you can personally.  But the glitter doesn’t stop there…

I decided to create a sweet little glimmery 5 gal hat for the inside of the card.  Why just 5 gal??  Because she’s a lady of course… no woman carts around a 10 gal hat here in TX.  It’s hard enough chasing after the tumbleweed in a 5 gal hat alone…

I stamped the words down (which because this set is photopolymer and completely clear- placement was a breeze!!) then I cut out my cute little 5 gal hat from some Pink Pirouette card stock, colored the band with some strawberry slush marker and then adhered it straight to the inside of the card.  But then came the icing, literally… I covered the hat with a luscious yummy thick layer of Dazzling Details.  SOOOOOOO PRETTY!!

It’s your turn!!  Take a few minuets today and create something using the inspiration sketch for this months challenge.  Submit it to the challenge and not only will you get a chance to be selected as the Party Pick but you will get to see all kinds of inspirations from other amazing paper crafters.  Give it a go!!  Remember to register for your favorite classes this month too, they are coming up quick, kits and space is limited so click the images below to get more info and to REGISTER TODAY!!
