MDS Monday Beachy Blues

It’s MONDAY and that means it’s time for an MDS project!! :-) I have a challenge to throw into the mix for today’s project~ I used a heart punch shape to create my rays of sun, yes I blew it up REALLY large.  I filled them with different patterns of Daffodil Delight and So Saffron DSP’s.  My sand along the bottom is an enlarged Tastefully Trim Digital Shape.
This is a double 8-1/2″ x 11″ page layout created in MDS and the thing that I tried to do on this page, which I thought turned out pretty well, was wrapping bakers twine around the scallop sun in the corner.  I wanted to embellish this after it was printed by sewing in the twine… seriously so happy it turned out, just wait!  Me and the FAM are heading to CA at the end of the month and I am stoked to put pics of them at the beach in here when we return!!!  So here is my Hybrid version…
I layered the printed layouts onto 12×12 Crumb Cake and then I embellished a little on the sides with some Night of Navy and Marina Mist card stock that I ran through my Big Shot with my FAV Tastefully Trim Die- LOVE THAT THING!!!  I left plenty of space on the sides for journaling, I am thinking I will need a lot of space for documenting the crazy things my kids do!! Check out the real life Calypso Bakers Twine I sewed onto the printed scallop circle of the page.  I just sniped a notch where the twine was to gather then used my paper piercer to create the holes of where the scallops are and brought my twine through… makes the scallop look 3-D- I LOVE IT!!!
This inspiration for this layout was thanks to this months Challenge at Stampin’ Celebration.  Check out the rest of the Design Team project’s- they are serisouly amazingly talented!
