MDS Invites & Spoiler Alert!!!

Hey Stampers!!! I have something fun to share with you guys today…I shared with you the MDS version of this invitation a few months ago, and I printed them and used them as birthday invitations.  Lets take a closer look!
You can see that I added a few more details to the card and I changed them up slightly for my son and daughter.

Yeah, pretty traditional- pink for her and blue for him… I had these printed out on photo paper at my local grocery store photo shop, and even though the colors are not an exact match to our ribbons and card stocks I think they turned out really nice.

Now for a SPOILER ALERT!!!  Turn away of you are planning on swapping at Convention this year…  I have been SO busy with preparing for my Catalog Kick-Off Bash and then realized the other day that I needed to make my swap for Convention… so I decided to get into my trusty MDS and create my swap.  I was inspired by a card that I saw on the cover of my most recent Stampin’ Success Magazine and thought that I would change the colors and the images somewhat and BAM- I had a card.
I really loved how it turned out, and I have a matte finish on the print so that it prevents all the finger prints from showing up.  I thought it would be fun to give out a Hybrid card front for my swap, wanna see what I did?? You can see the standing one is all MDS and the ones laying down have brads, pearls, and rhinestone brads attached to the card front.

I mounted the MDS card front to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to give some good weight and thickness to the swap.

Here is a close-up of the brads and pearls that I added to the printed cards.  These cards look really cool in your hands, you can see the texture from the crumb cake textured cardstock option in MDS and the shadows for the scalloped embellishments makes it look like it is popping off the cards.

Thanks so much for taking a peek today and I respectfully ask that if you are still in the process of creating your card to please not copy my creation if you are attending Convention – let me be clear, this is not an original design from me, obviously, and I am ALL ABOUT sharing creativity- I just didn’t want two people to be swapping the exact same card.  So if it inspires you- go for it, just change it up a bit so it isn’t an exact duplicate. :)  Gracias Amigo’s and until next time~ TTFN
