HSS Sketch Challenge #55

Good Morning Stampers!!!  Today I am sharing my project for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge- I think it is SUPER cute and fun.  I didn’t adhere to the template too literally, but does that surprise you? It shouldn’t, because I never do anything the way it is supposed to be done… I am giggling in my head.  Pop on over to HSS and check out this weeks challenge and the rest of the inspirations from the Design Team.
Here is the card I made for this week.  I know this has been a design seen a lot over all kinds of blogs and galleries BUT I just love the thought of making something with JUST punches and having it be something that it wasn’t initially intended to be. :)  So here is what I did, and yes this is a SIMPLE card but it looks harder than it is- seriously!
I took the small oval punch and made a few of Pretty in Pink and one in So Saffron and then took classic ink in the Daffodil Delight and the Regal Rose and sponged the edges to create some depth.  I layered them and mounted them on a piece of Whisper White and then did some faux stitching with my Stampin’ Write Marker in Chocolate Chip.  The flower petals are stitched in a White Singo Gel Pen- BTW those are by far THE best white pens you can find!

I stamped my sentiment onto a Whisper White CS piece and layered it BEHIND the base layer that had been punched with the window word punch.  A reverse on what I normally do when putting on a sentiment to a card.

I tried to give a few different layers and mats to this card, and the best part is that the card is not heavy.  Usually when you make a card with several mat layers the bard is VERY front heavy and has a hard time fitting into an envelope- but this one is SURPRISINGLY thin.

Here you can see how I layered the petals.  I used glue dots and attached three pink to the lower part of the saffron spacing evenly, then added two more centered between the three in front.  This gives you a great 3-D layered look.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks Challenge entry and my project.  I hope you take a moment to hop over to HSS and play along with us.  Use the sketch as a guide but you can replace the pocket design with ANY shape you want or create a CUTE project with the pocket, you have to see what the rest of the Design Team did for their projects!  Simply amazing!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time~ TTFN
