HSS Technique Challenge #89

Good Morning Stampers!!!  I had such a great time creating this weeks project for Hand Stamped Sentiments Technique Challenge #89, I chose to work my crayons out for this project… this technique always makes me feel like a real artist.

You should pop on over to HSS and play along this week, there are several techniques to choose from so your creativeity is boundless, we can’t wait to see what you create and share!

This was one of THE FIRST technique I ever learned when I started stamping and making cards.  I take my wonderful crayons and scribble a bit on the lid of a stamp set, making my own little pallet.  THEN, I take my aqua painter and a bit of watercolor paper and have at it!  I do my watercolor technique with my crayons, and I love this technique because the more hit or miss you make your coloring, the better it looks!

Then I layered some DSP, with my Red Ridding-hood, Pretty in Pink and Chocolate Chip card stock and my favorite 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon- I LOVE this width.  I think it is just wide enough for a great impact but not so wide that its hard to tie into a knot.
I hope you enjoyed this project and hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to play along with us there!  You can make anything, 3-D item, scrap page, gift item, ANYTHING!!!! I love sharing creativity :-)  Until next time!

  1. You did a wonderful job coloring the image. So cute! Love all the layering. Beautiful card!

  2. Super cute! Love the DSP and the aqua painter gives it such a soft look. Great job girl!

  3. Adorable card!! I have not used the crayon technique either. I am going to have to try this one. However, I still partial to the shaving cream!! To much fun with all that mess and color!! CUT CARD!!! Amy

  4. Love this! It has been a while since I did watercoloring also. Thanks for reminding me of this favorite technique.

  5. Very cute card and I LOVE LOVE LOVE coloring like that! It was my go to thing before I had all the ink pads in all the colors. The WWC were the first thing I bought on my first SU order so I’d have EVERY color:-)

  6. You won’t believe this, but I don’t have the watercolor crayons yet. Okay, get up off the floor. Now I’m gonna have to. I didn’t realize how soft and smooth it “paints” when you use the aquapainter with them. Hmmmmm….now my next order?!?! :)

  7. Very cute card! I haven’t tried any of the crayon techniques but I love the color. Thanks for inspiring me.

  8. I always forget to use my crayons, going to have to pull those out again, sometime it’s the simplest of supplies (that we started out with) that are the most fun and easy to use! Beautiful card Erin!
