It’s Tuesday, which means a FEW awesome things… First off it’s a NEW WEEKLY DEAL for YOU!! Check out all the cool things that are available from NOW till midnight Nov. 25th. Which is YOUR MUST HAVE??
With the Holiday Season quickly approaching, I think the one thing that reminds me of my snowy and cold white Christmas’ is a festive silver color scheme. I have a FUN sketch that I worked with from Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge this week- check out what I created to play along.
Check out the sketch that I used to help me along.
I used Rhinestones in place of the punched shapes in the sketch, I LOVE tweaking sketches to make them just slightly different.
Using the different sized Rhinestones add a TON of sparkle! I love the color scheme for this card, I got the inspiration for that from the color challenge at Dynamic Duo- it’s all about SILVER and BLACK! I LOVE all the little touches for this card… it doesn’t seem like very much and it isn’t really but MAN, this card (with a different sentiment) could be used for Wedding invites or even Graduation?? It’s SUPAH classy!
I used some smoky slate card stock for the back layer of the tag, then covered the exposed edges with SILVER DAZZLING DETAILS, AWESOME SAUCE!! I used the STYLISH STRIPES embossing folder to add some texture to the card front. Of course I clustered the RHINESTONES over the front in various spots and used a sweet festive sentiment from the CHRISTMAS MESSAGES SET. I LOVE making paper bows, they are super simple to do and if you wanted larger ones than what I made for this card you could grab the GIFT BOW DIE available now, however I didn’t use that die as the bows are larger than I wanted to use for this card. I used the OVAL PUNCH to create this adorable bow, and before I assembled it I embossed it with the PERFECT POLKA-DOT embossing folder and colored the raised dots with the silver marker that’s retired. Of course what bow would be complete without a HUGE RHINESTONE in the center? Not one of my bows, that’s FO SHO!!!!
I made a simple tutorial on how to make these bows when I created the BOWS AND MORE SAMPLER CARDS, you should check it out and learn how!!
I was talking to a few of my stampers this last weekend about figuring out cut sizes and dimensions for cards, they mentioned to me that they still aren’t comfortable or knowledgeable enough to create using a sketch. I think the main focus to keep in mind when using a sketch is to allow it to relieve the stress of creating, not increase it. In order to help accomplish this I am putting together a STAMPERS 101 ONLINE CLASS SERIES which will cover ALL kinds of info that will help new stampers obtain the skills needed to relieve the anxiety of creativity. The best thing is that this class series will be an AWESOME resource for those who have been stamping and crafting for 5 days or 15 years. Be on the lookout for more details about this ONLINE CLASS SERIES COMING SOON!
