I think fries without the carbs would be like living in Eutpoia… and although that might not be possible I have maybe the next best thing, at least for a paper crafter- LOL!! I have fallen head over heals for the FRENCH FRY BOX DIE and if you haven’t played with it yet, you are seriously missing out!! This die is a large BIGZ style die, so when you are using it you only need the 2 clear cutting plates with your machine. Here is what the box looks like once put together…
I decided to play with mine a bit… to alter the shape some. I put these adorable samples together for my CATALOG KICKOFF PARTY that I had last month. These were such a hit with the ladies and I LOVED making them!
The first one I created was using the FRIENDLY WISHES and ALL ABOUT SUGAR sets, I embellished a bit with the new In-Color BLOSSOM ACCENTS too! Of course I used the FRENCH FRY BOX DIE to create the box, but I did it a little differently… I also used my OVAL FRAMELITS to create that large sentiment piece for the front, it matches the rounded shape of the box…
You can see how I altered the box from the side view… see both sides are the BACK!! Whoa… fancy… LOL! I will put together a quick video to show you how I put these together… they really are SO easy! I punched a hole in the sides and ran some of that yummy DOTTED LACE RIBBON through and made a little handle for my treat box.
Next up I create this version of the same sort of box, this one I wanted to create a type of banner flag topper of course I used another sentiment from the same stamp set FRIENDLY WISHES, I love the sentiments in this set!! To create the banner piece I just measure the width of my stamp, added a few 1/8″ on either side and that was my width, then I measured the height of my sentiment and doubled that measurement for the front and the back of the banner, then I added in the width of the fry box, that will accommodate the area of the banner that goes along the top.
So from the side you can see a better understanding of the banner… the ribbon is wrapped and tied around the top of the banner and it’s hiding it a bit. I will show this in the video too. But notice that on this fry box both sides of the box are the FRONT design only… I know, tricky…
Lastly, I created this one- perfect for an outdoor B-B-Q? I think this one is my absolute FAVE!! I LOVE the ALL ABOUT SUGAR set, in fact it’s made to coordinate perfectly with this very die… I thought wouldn’t these be adorable to make as a table piece for a BBQ… just think you could put treats inside, OR how about little plastic utensils wrapped in a napkin? OMG!!!
You can see that I used the front and back both have the higher back shape of the die… I made these little over-all straps using thin long strips of card stock that I criss-crossed stapled on the front, then in the back (which you can’t see very well) I put them on top of one another and stapled them together. They really do look like over-alls!
These adorable little boxes are SO easy to make… I will have a quick video tutorial for you before the end of the week. If you were lucky enough to grab this die while it was on sale a few weeks ago then you are set. If you didn’t then I am sorry But honestly no matter what the price is you NEED this adorable die… it makes the CUTEST things and I am not even done playing with it for other alternative projects either. Have you thought of something new with this die? If so please share.
