Do you ever rush to judgement at times? How many of you decided early on, after the first glimpse of the soon to arrive- NEW In-colors, that you didn’t like one or several of them… and best yet, you were disappointed in many of them. Well, guess what… you wouldn’t be alone. I too, made the same rush to judgement AND I should know better. To prove to you that these colors are in fact beautiful and awesome, as I have come to find out first hand, I will be showing you various comparisons and tips for them throughout the week.
Today I am sharing the actual project that we will be making at the Catalog Kickoff Luau THIS SATURDAY!!
I was shown this adorable project at the Catalog Premiere event I attended last month and thought it was a perfect fit for my Kickoff Event! I created each pouch with a monochromatic pallet, and I thought this was the first place to start… because this is what made me fall in love with them ALL!
So let’s start off with the color that almost EVERYONE I know of dislikes the most, Mossy Meadow. I was in that group until I made this… and now I am very accepting of it.
The darker color for the pouch is the new MOSSY MEADOW, but when you pair it with different hues it becomes SO beautiful. I used the Pistachio Pudding to soften the harshness of the darker green, I think it looks like a very true camo-green.
The next one that I think people were somewhat disappointed with is TANGELO TWIST, not because the color is unappealing but because it resembles Tangerine Tango so closely- and it does, BUT it’s slightly richer and gorgeous all the same!
What can I say about this color… in a word- YUMMY!!! I love the deep richness and BRIGHT color. When paired with lighter colors, like this Cantaloupe Crisp, it’s perfect for summer themed projects. BUT when it’s paired with deeper, jeweled toned colors it’s a perfect addition to any fall themed project.
I think LOST LAGOON is the one that will fly under the radar because most will assume that it too closely resembles Marina Mist, but it’s quite different actually. This shade has more of a “green” under tone to the base which makes it perfect match for summer/brighter projects as well as with fall/deeper colored projects.
I paired this deeper shade with the Soft Sky to make this project lighter and more summer like. Creating color combinations with these NEW in-colors isn’t hard at all, and it’s actually fun… you will LOVE these colors once you see how well they coordinate with all the other shades.
Now this color I believe will quickly become a crowd favorite. BLACKBERRY BLISS is a richer version of Rich Razzleberry but not the same at all. It’s SO awesome… for SO many reasons, and coordinates so well with almost every purple shade in Stampin’ Up!s spectrum.
I paired this rich color with the softness of Wisteria Wonder, and it’s a perfect match. It lightens up the deepness of the Blackberry for sure. This is going to be a FAV Halloween color for sure!
I saved MY FAVORITE for last. HELLO HONEY is a cross between Crushed Curry and Summer Starfruit. It’s NOT nearly as poop-ie as Summer Starfruit, and is WAY more appealing like the coveted Crushed Curry. This will be a MUST have in many of my upcoming projects!!
I paired it with the lighter So Saffron cardstock to pull out more of the yellow and less of the green under tone of the color, and it works perfect! I do LOVE the richness of these colors, and I can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on these colors at the Catalog Kickoff Luau. I am positive once you get your hands on them you too will fall in love!
I have some adorable shade comparisons coming up for you later this week as well, so be on the look out for that. Tomorrow I am sharing how you can earn tickets for some FREEBIES that will be given out for those who participate, more on that tomorrow
