Expressions Thinlits Used For A Fun Technique

I had a few minuets today to try a FUN technique that one of my stampers sent to me the other day.  She had seen it on the net (I can’t remember where) but Thanks Christina!! I have been looking forward to recreating this technique and it was SUPER easy, I can’t wait to try it again to see all the color variations.  I love the EXPRESSIONS THINLITS and just see how easy it is to make them the focus of a card-

Using a product or tool as your focal piece can TOTALLY work every time!

This simple technique was super FUN!! Start with a whisper white piece of card stock, and use a large stamp and several inks to create a pattern piece of card stock, you could use a piece of Designer Series Paper (but I prefer the thickness of card stock with the thinlits).  Then I cut down the hand stamped pattern paper to the size I wanted for my card front, slapped it in my Big Shot with the thinlit on top and cranked it through-

Beautiful cards don't have to be FANCY they just have to leave an impact!

I love how this card just focuses on the subtle raised sentiment.  Once I die cut the sentiment out I mounted the hand stamped pattern piece to a solid darker card stock layer and then adhered it to the card base, all using snail to not give any height to the layers… then I trimmed down a few dimensionals (super TINY dimensionals) and placed them strategically… to give the word the height it needed to create this cool effect.

The same pattern is raised up onto the sentiment... SUPER COOL!!

Can you see the added “SUMIN’ SUMIN’ ” that I added on the card?? Can you see it? It’s sort of hard to see it in the photo, BUT there is a THICK (I mean SERIOUSLY THICK) layer of Dazzling Details over the word… it’s super cool in the light how stinkin’ sparkly it is! It’s AWESOME-SAUCE!!!

A simple tool creates a stunning card!

Placing the dimensionals is sort of like surgery… and tedious!

I love how this card turned out, BUT I can’t say that I would make a TON of these… this card was EASY to create UNTIL I had to place all the TINY dimensional pieces in strategically placed areas.  That was tedious enough to keep me from making another one, LOL!! I have serious sausages for fingers and placing each of those eyelash sized doo-dads was painful! LOL!!!  I have to say I did a pretty good job keeping them from being seen… I had to get a really close up shot for you to see these.

You have to give this simple technique a try, think about it- you wouldn’t need to use a word you could try a slightly thicker shape and it would be tonz easier!!  I have another little teaser for you today as well, check out what is on the way for my Mailing List Members-
