I am SOOOOOO ready to move on from my Christmas creations and crafts, even though I STILL haven’t sent out my holiday cards yet.  I will be honest, I may not get them out.  I know that’s almost blasphemous… the card lady not getting out cards.  I have been so busy with prepping for events and classes that I haven’t had the time to devote to actually designing and putting them together.

But even though I haven’t actually created a gazillion Christmas cards I am pretty much over the Christmas creating and the jewel toned colors… I am really in LOVE with bright cheery colors and I honestly can only take a few weeks of the fall seasonal colors, so I went with brighter colors for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge.

I decided to play with some of my new sets that I got the other day, and I am creating an OUT-THE-BOX Christmas card with it too.  I needed to use some unconventional colors too and honestly this card could be used for SO many different reasons, but it sort of works for Christmas too… sort of :-)

Here is the sketch that we had to work with this week.

I absolutely LOVE the FUN silver polka-dot vellum paper that I used on the background… that stuff is just plain AWESOME!!  I admit that I am a little obsessed with this new BANNER BLESSINGS set too, it’s oozing in AWESOME-SAUCE too.  I took a few stars that I cut from the Star framelits and covered the largest one with Dazzling Details- SAAAA-WEEEEET!!!

I stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink onto Pool Party card stock, punched out of course with my trusty 2-1/2″ circle punch.  Then I re-stamped the sentiment onto Blackberry Bliss card stock using Whisper White craft ink, and I hand cut out the banner piece and layered it over top the Bermuda punched one… seriously COOL, right?  I am really pleased how this card came out.  I used a fun color pallet that I have on my PINTEREST INSPIRATION PAGE-

I really liked these but I narrowed it down to just the last 3 colors- LOVE!

I can’t wait to share the fun things I have planned for tomorrow, you will absolutely want to check back for that.  Take a moment this week and create a fun card, or any type of project using the sketch from above and play along with us at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  It’s a LOT of fun!!  And before you head off today be sure you take a moment to register for the creative classes I have the rest of this month- they are cute!
