Amazing Birthday Polka-Dots

I love it when a simple card packs a punch, and today I have a card to share that does just that.  It’s Tuesday and that means it’s time for a new challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments and it’s all about the inspiration!  I wanted to showcase this fun new stamp set that I got for FREE at Convention, it’s the AMAZING BIRTHDAY and it’s a super fun set!

A little glitter, and a little ribbon = perfection!

This time the Design Team is using this inspiration photo for the challenge:

cute colors, great images, tons of inspiration.

Of course what card is complete without glitter? NONE! I had placed my Rich Razzleberry stripped flag to the back of my obmbre HAPPY BIRTHDAY flag and then secured that to my embossed background and then looked at it and said, “it’s missing something…” Then I realized it had no shimmer, that’s just a crime!  So I quickly remedied that!

Ombre tags are simple to create.

One simple way to create an ombre effect is to stamp the image over and over without reinking it to get slightly lighter shades of your main color, OR you can gather the colors that are lighter or darker than your starting color.  In my card I used Soft Sky, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, and Bermuda Bay.  Depending on the depth of the color you are using the constant stamping technique would work great, Blackberry Bliss would be a perfect color to use for that technique.

Take a moment and play along with us this week.  Create a project (any kind) that has aspects of the inspiration photo and share your creativity with us all at Hand Stamped Sentiments today!
