IT'S PARTY TIME!! I am SO excited about SO MANY of the awesome things in the NEW HOLIDAY items in the Holiday Catalog, I can show you come August 1st- although many of you already have your catalogs now!  I have a party favor project for you today for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge this week!  I thought I would create a great PARTY FAVOR Christmas Tree for this challenge.

 I thought this adorable favor tree would be perfect for those holiday parties you always go to or hold, and you could fill it with all kinds of great things!  Can you imagine doing 24 of these in different sizes for an adorable forest style advent calendar?  Cute right?!

See the topper is a make shift star- it is the smallest framelit of the Floral Frames and some Red Glitter Paper- OH I can't wait for the holidays!!

 I made the ornaments with the 1/2" circle punch and added some TINTED DAZZLING DETAILS to each of the circles to give some shimmer!  You can also see that I layered the ribbon scallop border punch shaped stripes all the way up the tree to give the effect of layered branches- it's interpretive :-)

I created this cute favor box with my petal cone die and so it opens from the bottom where you can access any kind of treat that is placed inside.

Emerging Color Technique

August MOM & ME Class

I am excited to share with you ANOTHER FUN class scheduled for August!!  It is all about companion stamping for this one!  In the MOM & ME CLASS for August we are making memory books, this class is designed to stamp with a companion.  It can be your daughter, your niece, your neighbor, or even just a friend!  Here is what we are making in the class!

This project is FUN and EASY!  These are great for girls or ladies, or even grandparents that want an adorable way to show pics of their grand kids to their friends.  When you register you are getting 2 projects (one for you and one for your companion)- if you don't have a companion you can still come to the class and you will get to create 2 projects!  You are requested to stamp along side your companion to assist in the assembly of the project. You will also get helpful tips and instructions e-mailed to you just prior to the class date so you can create even more of these in your own home.

August Savvy Stamping Card Class

It is time again to begin sharing with you the samples for my upcoming classes in August.  To start off the revile I have my SAVVY STAMPING CLASS to share today!  You asked for it, so I am giving it to you!! I have had several requests by class members to be able to create the cards I showcase for challenges, so I have redesigned the Savvy Card Class to give you what you want!  Here is what we will be creating in August!!  Oh and you long distance stampers can take part in these classes as well- check out the details below!!

 We will learn a few techniques with embossing folders and punches to create this card.

 

 Even more techniques with this card as well- this one focuses on markers!

 It's all about the detail with this card, understated elegance with a POP!

 Then to finish off the class I will show you how to take a sketch and really get your Mojo going!!

The best part about this class is that with every card we create you will not only learn some cool techniques and tips- and maybe even some multiple uses for our tools BUT you will also learn how to use sketches to fuel your creativity!  I will show you how I do it and help you gain that level of comfort.  For each card we make in the Savvy class you will also go home with a sketch that you can add to your SKETCH RING.  You can refer back to that ring for unlimited inspiration while you create at home!  You will also get written instructions (and sometimes video tutorials) of all the projects delivered to your email the evening prior to the class date, so you have something to refer to on your own time.  So want to come?!

Convention Recap & LOOT

Check out all the LOOT I got at Convention this year!!  Granted a few items were purchased BUT only about 2% of what is there is what I bought!  Everything else was FREE!!  The little grocery sacs (folded up on the left side), the metal card tree (you can see the leaves), the pens (bottom left side), and the lip glosses (bottom right side) were the only things that were purchased- everything else was FREE!!

One of the best things about Convention is ALL the FREE stuff that you get!  You get TONS of product for your Make-N-Takes, even more stuff for the additional classes that are offered in the evening, not to mention the FREE things you get from PRIZE PATROL!!

I can't even count ALL the sets that I got for free, not all of them would fit into the frame of the picture.  I just LOVE all the amazing things we do and learn at convention.

I got the pleasure of being a Make-N-Take helper this year so I got to shop in the Momento Mall on Wed. before it opened to everyone else (mostly because we forfeit that shopping time when we are helping out during the other Make-N-Take times). Wed. night I had my first Break Out Class called I am Inspired where we made a framed message board- SUPER CUTE, but since I had to travel with it I haven't finished it yet.

THURSDAY- We headed to General Session- where I WON PRIZE PATROL!!  Yeah, I can't believe I am even posting this- BUT it's the only proof I have of winning.  I am a total goof for FREE STUFF! (No, I am NOT Gene Simmons love child...)

Then it was off to classes- the first one I went to was I AM SAVVY where some fellow demonstrators (Donna Griffith, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith, and Laura Milligan) showed us some AWESOME projects that we could use in classes and events. I took pics and will be using them in upcoming classes- just wait!!

After lunch I headed of to I AM OPEN FOR BUSINESS hosted by Carrie Cudney, and she let us in on a little secret... Stampin' Up! is launching this huge marketing campaign in a TON of magazines (Creating Keepsakes, Paper Crafts, Rachel Ray, Parents Magazine and MORE!).  She mentioned that the ads wouldn't be "crafty" in the literal sense but more like catchy, eye grabbing type ads that would make readers want to know more.  I have a GIVEAWAY OFFER to all of you- when you see a magazine ad for Stampin' Up! if you click a pic of it with your phone and post it to MY FACEBOOK PAGE you will WIN a PRIZE!!  The prizes change daily but it will be something GREAT!!

Then it was OFF to help with Make-n-Takes, then to get ready for AWARDS NIGHT!!  I had a BLAST, I had never been to it before and then the amazing after party... next year I need to wear more sensible shoes for dancing- oh and not roll my ankle again!! You can see all the crazy pics from awards night on my FACEBOOK PAGE but here's one that didn't make it on there... this was INSIDE the after party, Genny had headed over to her organized swap and we went in to get our GROOVE ON!!

Friday started out with a great general session then off I went to my class I AM A LEADER hosted by BRIAN PILLING (who by the way is AMAZING!!) He shared with us how we should NOT see ourselves as a LEADER but as an INFLUENCE-ER.  This was huge for me, as I HATE telling people what they should do (at least in business) :-) - I don't agree that my way is the right way... I love the fact that we should see ourselves as those who guide and give advice and those around us ultimately have the CHOICE to work THEIR business how and when they want. LOVE that!!

Then I went to I AM EARNING THE INCENTIVE TRIP by Karen Hauley.  I left this class REALLY BELIEVING that this would be MY YEAR!  I have the tools I need and the AMAZING CUSTOMERS that can help me achieve the INCENTIVE TRIP this year- to WESTERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE

I worked another session of Make-n-Takes and finished my day with an add-on MDS2 class- FREAKING AWESOME is all I have to say!!!

Saturday morning started with I AM MAKING MONEY with Pam Morgan.  She really outlined ALL the different incentive and bonus programs that Stampin' Up! offers and how it REALLY IS totally ATTAINABLE!!

Then I headed off to I AM DOING BUSINESS MY WAY! by Bonnie Thurber, Tami White, and Rhonda Wade.  I was AMAZED to find out that what I thought was a genius idea of how to hold my new clubs was already being done by one of the TOP demo's in the company... I should know that my ideas are never original, LOL! I am reassured to know that the thought process of how I do business is already in practice for some of the MOST successful Demo's in the company.

Then we went to our FINAL General Session where we CLEANED HOUSE with even MORE FREE STUFF!!  You can see all those pics and deets on my FACEBOOK PAGE as well!!  What an AMAZING week!!  I learned SO much and made lasting memories with my roommates and friends.  I just have to say that if you have EVER considered attending Convention and becoming a Demonstrator- don't wait!  It is the BEST thing that I ever decided to do, and it has changed my life- and I am SO blessed for it!!  If you are considering it and would like to talk more about it, please feel free to contact me- I won't stalk you and really am not that crazy Consultant that you know from other companies ;-) I am easy going and only want for you what you want for you.  I can show you how to get there though... Upcoming Class Sample Sneak Peek!!

I am busting at the seams to show you the samples for the upcoming classes in August- BUT I am not completely done just yet.  I have SO many new things in store for the NEW STAMPIN' UP! Curly Label Pacific Coast Hwy Sign

It's time for another FUN challenge card for today!  It is ALL about the pacific coast highway theme and in spirit of my upcoming trip to California I thought this card was perfect!  I wanted to try and create a Pacific Coast Highway sign using punches- I have to say that I got pretty close. :-)

I made a very simple design for my card.  I used the Argyle embossing folder to texture the card stock.  I LOVE the Bitty Banner Set- and layered that onto real red card stock. I used my Curly Label punch to create the sign by snipping the curved corners straight at the top- it kind of reminds me of Wonder Woman. 

I covered the sign with TONS of TINTED DAZZLING DETAIL, man I love this stuff!!

Convention Antics and Craziness...

Mornin' Y'all! I am SOOOO tired (I am writing this SO early like 1 AM) I wanted to share some FUN things tonight, I am laughing so hard it hurts!  I want to share some funny pics of last night at the awards event and a cool video we got to see from the Stampin' Up! Staff- enjoy!

I love being crazy and silly... as if you couldn't tell from ALL the Facebook updates this week!  This was our CAT LIKE poses on the red carpet! Erica is ANGRY CAT and I am RABIES CAT!!

 I swear I look like I was photo shop'd into this pic... I was standing right next to them... I am ALWAYS in my own little world.  The camera gal was laughing so hard, I swear she thought something was wrong with me!

Artisan Award Contest Projects

I can't believe tomorrow is Friday ALREADY!! Well I finally got the chance to go in and search for my Stampin' Up! Artisan Contest projects... and sadly I only found a few.  I can't even remember how many of each category I was required to send in but here is what I found.  I made this 3-D project showcasing the Brights Buttons and LOTS of the MDS (My Digital Studio) images and sentiments.  This was a FUN project to create!

 You have no idea how many buttons I used on this thing!!

 This was the second 3-D project I made... I was going for a wall hanger somthin' or nother... :-) I wanted to give this threading technique a try.  I saw some earnings in a store where I get outfits for my daughter and they had all these threads spun around this spring to create a similar effect as whats on the heart... It was as close as I could get and I was pretty happy with it. :)

 Here is a card I made using the gingham technique with the STRIPES EMBOSSING FOLDER.  I created the butterfly with the Doily Die (I just cut out it's body from the different scallops...) I made the other body parts and trail from rhinestones.  I made the larger wings with the Blossom punch and a cool technique to get scallops behind that large 2-1/2" circle punch at the bottom... I will share that with you on MONDAY!!

 I popped up some of the words in the sentiment and layered additional card stock behind and then finished off with TINTED DAZZLING DETAILS- homemade of course!!

 I made a VersaShadow technique card using this floral set (I am SO SORRY, it is SERIOUSLY late and I can't remember. I will come back in today and edit to add links and all the proper names)

 Here is one of the scrap pages I made... I think this is ONE of the many reasons I was disqualified, I used DSP that wasn't available in the catalog at the time of entry for this project.  I found this cool technique (don't have a name for it) on pintrest where they took layers of cloth and sliced them open and they became worn and showed the layers... I tried to recreate this effect on paper- it was MUCH harder than I anticipated and MAN this page took me forever!! But look at those ADORABLE babies!!

Stampin' Up! Convention Day One!!!

Today was the BUSIEST day for in a long time for me!  I did SO many things from getting to shop in MEMENTO MALL EARLY as a perk for being a Make-N-Take helper, check out details on my FACEBOOK PAGE about that.  I also got to take the tour of the home office~ We got to see all these COOL displays set up there, check it out!

 These are also blown up on canvas and hand cut designer pieces of paper- I am still trying to figure out how it was made!

To finish off the day- we took our pic together out in front of the home office and got hoots from all the construction workers across the street, LOL!!
