Ink: VersaMark, Melon Mambo, Sahara Sand

Fancy Fan Thank You's

A simple THANK YOU for today!  The card I created yesterday, although it ended up simple started out much more intense and so for today I went with a much simpler design and CONCEPT!!
I used the colors provided by Dynamic Duo's, it's very Monochromatic there this week.  The colors I used were River Rock and Always Artichoke- two colors I NEVER typically use.  I think River Rock looks like baby poo and although I like Always Artichoke it is more of a seasonal color for me.  I have to say though this card and these colors aren't half bad, LOL!
I used the sketch from Paper Pals and that was super easy and helpful to use as a guide.  I just LOVE the texture on the card base, simple and elegant!
I used the following items for this project:
Stamps: Everything Elanor, Curly Cute
Ink: River Rock & Always Artochoke
Paper: River Rock, Always Artichoke, Whisper White
Punches: Dotted Ribbon Scallop Border
Big Shot: Fancy Fan Embossing Folder

Are YOU a Hand Stamped Style FACEBOOK FAN??

KEEP CALM &...

EAT A CUPCAKE!
What better way to calm yourself than by eating a cupcake, right?!  Today I am sharing this labor of love, well- really just a labor!  It took me almost all day to create this card...  I had something much more grand in mind but every time I attempted my vision it got harder and fought with me more.  With it almost 110 degrees outside, the heat and the humidity and my frustration got the best of me.  Sometimes you are just destined to create something more simplistic, no?

I used my classic ink and my NEW CHEVRON embossing folder to create the background paper, then I went back and colored in the white space using my markers.  The colors I used were Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, and Basic Grey (courtesy of ColourQ).  I used the template for the card provided by Paper Players, and the PARTY THEME thanks to Friday Mash Up. I created the wide band using my ARGYLE embossing folder and some So Saffron paper.  I took my orange Sharpie to color the rhinestones to resemble Poppy... it's as close as I could get.

I love the little cupcake images from this HOSTESS EXCLUSIVE stamp set, unfortunately it is currently unavailable- but check out all the other exclusive sets available to only hostesses! Try to incorporate a technique that you haven't tried before- it is very liberating when you see the results!!
Here's what I used for this project:
Ink, Markers & Paper: So Saffron, Pacific Point, Poppy Parade, Basic Grey, Whisper White
Big Shot: Chevron & Argyle Embossing Folder
Punches: 2-3/8" scallop circle, 2-1/2" circle punch

Pretty In Pink- Papillion Potpourri

I LOVED this movie as a teen, not too long ago (at least that is what I tell myself often!) And I knew that I had to combine that challenge with a few others I found to go along with today's QUILTING challenge at HandStampedSentiments!!  Check out what I created~
So here's what I used as inspiration for this card.  I used the QUILTING theme from Hand Stamped Sentiments, and the sketch from MojoMonday, and finally the colors from Casual Fridays.
I thought they all complimented each other so well.  I made a VIDEO on how I create this card- check it out over on my YOUTUBE channel!
I love ALL the texture and patterns on this card- so this wouldn't be one that I would make 20 or even 5 of, but it is FUN to create something that's a bit over the top once and a while.  If I was going to make multiples of this one I would use DSP (designer series paper) instead of the quilting, and I would use a scallop or die cut shape instead of making the scalloped edges my self.  There are ways to recreate this card in a more simplistic fashion to allow for mass production!!
Here is what I used for this card:
***************************
GUESS WHAT'S NEW?! I have made some changes!! You will see some new class additions coming SOON- so be on the look out for that AND I have had some requests from a few of my hearing impaired stampers that they would love it if I would offer some caption for the videos that I create- SO beginning this week ALL of my videos will have FULL caption so everyone can enjoy!!
This is great for EVERYONE!!  How many time have you wanted to watch a video say while out in public but can't or don't cause you don't want everyone else listening to what your watching?  Now that's not a prob! Simply turn my volume OFF and you will still totally understand what is being shown- FANTASTIC RIGHT? Check out today's card NOW!!

MDS Monday- Summer Sicles!!

POPSICLE CELEBRATIONS!! I thought this would be a great MDS hybrid card- everyone LOVES a good Popsicle during the summer, right? I thought this was a great summer birthday card, maybe even an invitation!
I used a few inspirations OF COURSE!! I used the sketch from Freshly Made, and the colors (Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Kiwi Kiss) from Color Throwdown, and the inspiration given by The Pink Elephant (Popsicle image), and NOW to see it turned into a hybrid card~
I used the tinted dazzling details to color the Popsicle, although when I used the green one on my Kiwi Kiss Popsicle it turned it much darker than I wanted.
I used the following items for this project:

Flying Papillon Potpourri

IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!! I know this sounds crazy coming from a TX gal, cause it's been like 900 degrees here since like march... but I am celebrating that we may get some rain during this first week of summer!  Did you know that the reason why TODAY is the first day of summer?  It is because this is the LONGEST day of the year- the sun will be up approximately 14.5 hours today!  Yep- me got some learning in on the summer solstice.  Ok, onto the project~ I decided to create a summer themed card for y'all today!
So of course, I didn't want to spend 9 hours deciding what colors to use or a layout, etc. So I got the assistance inspiration of a couple challenges for my card today.  I decided to go with the color inspiration from coulorq which called for some colors I didn't have (because they aren't current) so I improvised!  Hold on to your hat- I know, me improvising... what will be next, thinking for myself?! I also got the sketch from mojo monday, which I altered a bit as well. And lastly I used the theme from cas-ual friday- they wanted me to use Acetate- so I did!
I basically made my card base out of Acetate, and decided to shift different parts of the sketch from the front to the inside.  But when the card is closed you can't tell that there are layers to this card.  I love super sneakiness!! I placed the 3-D butterflies on top of the card along with my first layer that I embossed and my ribbon.  You can see that I placed a empty white piece of card stock on the inside cover that matched the layer I used on the front, for writing.
I created a sun burst using wonky cut strips of card stock (yes, that is the technical term). I have a surprise for all those who have commented on how you like the projects I have made for challenges... details coming soon about that- BUT I will be informing my MAILING LIST MEMBERS FIRST! That's one of the perks for being a mailing list member.  I know you will love what I have to share with you.  If you want to JOIN my mailing list just fill out the form at the TOP left sidebar. You get a VIDEO TUTORIAL as my free gift to you as a THANK YOU for joining.
I LOVE using the bakers twine to create the antenna for my little butterflies, they are so dainty and cute! I really like the "out of the box" aspect of this card.  Can you create something out of the box?  Create an out of the box project and share it with me- just leave a comment on this post. I would love to see how you think outside the box!

Papillion Potpurri Layout

It's a LAYOUT kind-a day!! I finally completed a scrap layout... it has been TOO long since I have done a scrap layout, and I really love this one!  I am going to tweak this layout a bit (to make it slightly easier and quicker) to make for the Stamp Camp this weekend!
I used this BEAUTIFUL butterfly stamp set, and the coordinating butterfly punch- SOOOO CUTE!!  I am showcasing the PAPER PLEATING technique on this layout- I love it, it totally reminds me of a private school uniform skirt.  Take a look at the detail in the butterflies- seriously SO pretty.  I used the ELEGANT BUTTERFLY punch to create the whimsical embellishments for the page. I used the BAKERS TWINE to create the antenna for the butterflies. I thought that this page would be great for pics of my kids learning to ride a bike, or do something independent for the first time.
I hope that you will pop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to play along with the challenge of Paper Pleating this week.  Want to see what I used to create this project?
Big Shot: Retired Alpha Die Set
****************************
Stick around- I will create a version of this layout for the Stamp Camp this weekend and will share it with you tomorrow, so be sure to come back by tomorrow to take a look! :-)

MDS Monday Bright Blossoms

Good Morning Stampers! It is time again for this fantastic MDS (My Digital Studio) Monday project.  Today I made a card using the NEWEST downloads available Bright Blossoms! The colors I am using are Melon Mambo, Whisper White, and Basic Back.  Take a peek at today's digital version.

Here are the Digital items I used for this card:
Stamp Brushes: Dot Dot Dot

I used a few challenges to inspire me one from Stampin' Celebration and the layout or sketch from Mojo Monday.  I just LOVE the new blossoms!! Did you know every Tuesday Stampin' Up! releases NEW Digital downloads?  It usually includes a few brush sets, some kits, and typically an embellishment or two.  You can check my ON-LINE STORE every Tuesday to see what's new!!
Want to see the Hybrid version of this card?
I printed this card front out and then added a 3-D version of the blossom AND I added a sentiment to the open white space .  I didn't have a sentiment (digital) that I liked for this card so I left it blank until I printed it out.  This is a great option if you want to have a stash of cards on hand to use for ANY occasion, SIMPLY stamp your sentiment or greeting when you are ready to use.
Here are the products I used for my Hybrid Card:
Super simple card and it's ADORABLE!!! You should give it a shot!! You can download MDS for FREE for 30 days- GIVE IT A SHOT TODAY!!!

Father's Day Gift Box

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY Stampers!! I am having a great day today being able to spoil my husband today!!  he is such a great guy (and puts up with A LOT!!!) So today is a day that I like to devote to him completely.  I thought making him this adorable gift as one of the items he will receive today was a small thing that me and the kids could do.
This adorable gift box was super easy to make, AND the perfect size to house the CAR WASH GIFT CERTIFICATES.  The box is 8x5" scored at 1-1/4" all the way around, you snip one side of the scored squares that you end up with in the four corners (make sure to snip the same line on each of the sides) to allow the flaps to fold in to create the sides. This is the same for the top and the bottom.
I created the inside scalloped bottom using the Square Scallop Die, I attached 2 of them together at the 3rd scallop.  Then at the second scallop in I scored all sides and sniped the corners as stated above to create the side flaps. It fits perfectly inside the bottom for a cute contrast inside. Here are the additional items used to create this project:
Try it for yourself, this little container was SUPER easy to make, can you imagine what a card made to mimic the box design would look like?  I might give that a shot... I love the pattern used on the top of the box!  keep an eye out for that creation!  I hope you and your families have a great Father's Day!!!
