Anything BUT a Card Today!!

Good Morning Stampers!! I am SO excited to share this project with you today.  I made this project to play along with the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments #120.  The challenge this week is to create wearable art and I thought that my project was up for the task.  I even included a pic tutorial on how to do it yourself.  It is SUPER easy!!
I debated whether or not to share the entire project for this post but then decided that it didn't make too much sense if you couldn't see the entire project...
!!!!SPOILER ALERT!!!!!
to all my Hostess Club Members and Previous Hostess' who are attending my Hostess Appreciation Event, if you want to be surprised- turn away NOW and DO NOT go further!!!

I made these adorable gifts for ALL of my Hostess' for my Appreciation Event.  It was a small way for me to express my appreciation for all my supportive hostess' and all they do to help grow this crazy passion of mine. I am giving them each a baggie of embellishments and this weeks challenge was a perfect way to decorate the little gifts for them.  I made these ribbon florets that they can wear as a broach or an accent on a headband or even an embellishment on your purse!

This was a cute technique I saw on... guess where??- PINTREST, where else.  I LOVE this way of making flag ends instead of using my square punches cause I can never get those even but this is perfect every time!
Ok- now for the step by step- super simple
  1. 10" of ribbon
  2. sew both ends together to create a circle of ribbon
  3. begin weaving your needle/twine through one end of the ribbon
  4. run the twin through the entire edge of the ribbon
  5. just a pic to show you what it should look like :-)
  6. pull the twine along the bottom tight to gather the ribbon
  7. place your button on the right side and sew to the floret
  8. sew your broach pin to the back side of your floret
Then your done!! Super easy and I hope that my Hostess' like them. REMEMBER that this wide striped grosgrain ribbon RETIRES in just a few days!!! Get your NOW!! I also used Bakers Twine, Full Heart and 1/16" Punch, Friendly Phrases Stamp Set, White Craft Ink, Early Espresso card stock, and Sweet Stitches Big Buttons (clearance rack).

Memorial Day Happiness!!!

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!! I want to THANK all of the Service Men & Women that give SO much to our country.  Words could never describe my gratitude for all of those individuals that have fought, currently fight, and serve our country!!  Be sure and show your love and appreciation today for our AMAZING MILITARY!!!
You know how I love me some rainbows, right... well that is the inspiration for today's card created of course with My Digital Studio!!! I LOVE this crafting tool, it is awesome- gives me the opportunity to be crafty when I can't be in my studio.  I can create at the kids basketball games, dance practices, waiting in the car during scouts... you get the drift!  So here is today's project!
When making this layout I used the punch shape from the Tastefully Trim Digital Download punch and then added the coordinating softer shade in the grosgrain ribbon embellishment.  I finished the layout off with matching button embellishments from the brights family.  I knew that when I was making this layout I would transform this into a Hybrid card.  What's that?! It is a card or project created in MDS and then has 3-demensional items to the physical card to mix traditional card making with Digital card making.  Here is my Hybrid~
I added the real brights buttons to the card front.  I added the white from my Signo Gel Pen to mimic the twine look for the holes.  I have a confession... I didn't have ANY pacific point buttons left in the little flower shape so I took another color and covered it with MY HOMEMADE TINTED DAZZLING DETAILS to give me the only color I didn't have. Plus it glimmers- WIN, WIN!!! Try MDS NOW for FREE for 30-Days to kick the tires.
I think this card is SUPER fun and now I wish that I had used this card as my invite for my HOSTESS APPRECIATION & CATALOG KICK-OFF EVENT, because it goes along with the theme perfectly!  To get more details on this event CLICK HERE!

Be sure to check back in tomorrow to see what project I have to share, it's challenge time!!  I will be sharing the new challenge for the week by Hand Stamped Sentiments- so don't miss it.

Just For You, Mr. Man~

Good Morning Stampers!  It's time for the Final Reveal of class samples for the Simple Stamping Class for June - Here is the final card we will make and I just LOVE the simplicity of this card.  You could make SO many of these in all different color schemes SUPER quick!  That is the great things about the cards you have seen this week, the layout of each card is easy and simple and you could make MANY of one layout with different color schemes to create a stationary set.  HOW CUTE would that be, right!!
So again I used Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, and Certainly Celery card stock for this card.
I love the layer of ribbons for this card, granted some of them are retired but I need to get the use out of them somehow (ribbon is my #1 vice and I buy WAY too much of it!) The great thing about the ribbons that Stampin' Up! offers is that they coordinate seamlessly with the inks and card stocks so there is NO guessing.  So if there is a ribbon that I used that is no longer available, just select from the current ribbons available in the color you need. Easy Fix!!
I used the Small Heart and Postage Stamp punches for the different shapes.  I used the Houndstooth, Stripes, and Square lattice Embossing Folders for my Big Shot Machine.  I used the Raining Flowers and Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Sets.
I hope that you can attend the Simple Stamping Class in June- you will create the cards featured here this week.  These are great samples for you to work from on your own.  They are super easy and quick to make and you will love recreating them at home!!  Get all the details for this class just by clicking HERE!

Thinking of YOU, MAN

It's Official- the Holiday Weekend is HERE!! I am so excited, today I will be with my McAllen Hostess Club group- they are SO FUN! I get to visit my Bro. & Sis. In Law and all my nieces and nephews to boot, and my kids have a BLAST with their cousins!  So while I am there today YOU get to enjoy another peek at a class sample for the Simple Stamping Class in June- it's ALL about a masculine color scheme.  I used Whisper White, Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, and Baja Breeze Card Stock.

I liked using the Square Scallop Punch to give me this negative open space in the card, I figured that it was a pretty gender neutral shape- no?  I used a NEW set from the 2012-13 Catalog for this card.  It's called Betsy's Blossoms, and is it ADORABLE!!! You will LOVE it!!!
I used VersaMark Ink, White Embossing Powder, a Heat Tool, and White Grosgrain ribbon (this will retire on May 31st BUT wait till you see the NEW grosgrain line!!).  I love how this card can be used for any occasion.  I made one with a Birthday theme as well- check it out HERE.

WOW You're The BEST!!

Good Friday Morning Stampers!! I am celebrating the very LAST Friday with the kids in school today for several months, a moment of silence... OK- so onto business, I am IN LOVE with this card that I want to share this morning!!  I am SO addicted to Pintrest and again, found this layout there and knew I had to make it for my class members.  This is another card we will be making at the Simple Stamping Class for June.

I think what I love the most aside from the color scheme is the fact that you could use this for a man or a woman- seriously double duty right!  I love the funky shaped tiles and the little accents for each of them.
I didn't need a TON of product to create this card either which is great because they are quick and easy to replicate.  I used Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, and Certainly Celery card stocks.
I used Night of Navy Classic and Craft White Inks. I used my corner rounder punch and my 2nd favorite stamp set Delicate Doilies.  I finished the card off with a few Bright Buttons and used my Signo White gel pen to simulate thread on the button.  I love how quick and easy this card was!!

Why Have Things Been SO Crazy?!

Well for those of you who haven't heard or sensed my stress level coming through in posts, or my lack of involvement recently on FB and my lack of tutorials uploaded to my YT Channel- well here is why~
So what is this packed box for?? Well over the last several weeks I have been feverishly working on the different projects that I officially mailed off to submit for the Stampin' Up! Artisan Design Team Contest.  I was prompted by my demo friend Michelle to enter although I hate to say it, I doubt I am selected.  I know that sounds so defeatist, huh? Well I am hoping that it is just a case of seeing these projects for SO long that their creative luster has just worn off for me.

So what did I have to create, well I would love to show you but for now I will just have to tell you~
*three 12x12 single page layouts (I threw in a couple created with MDS for good measure)
*five cards (again a couple were MDS Hybrid creations)
*two 3-D projects, this could be anything and was FOR SURE the hardest for me to narrow down and execute.
All I have to say is... Whew! I am so glad I am done!
And now its on its way to Stampin' Up! I have to say packing this thing up was almost as stressful as creating them.  Trying to pack them so they arrive as if they haven't been smashed inside a box for days...  I have to say that I am excited for the possibility (however small it may be) of being selected, if so I will get to play with new product supplied by Stampin' Up! and create 4 different projects every time they send new things out.

So now I am off to prepare for my McAllen Club this weekend and for my upcoming HOSTESS APPRECIATION & CATALOG KICK-OFF EVENT!!! The work never ends, but I have to say that at least it is work that I really LOVE and enjoy- I finally get to start creating projects for June classes too!!  You will want to check back tomorrow to see some sneak peeks for the Simple Stamping Class for June!!!

My MANLY Version

Hi There Stampers!! Today is a Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge day! It's ALL about the MAN CAVE... this was a HARD one for me.  I don't have a hubby like that who has his own man cave, don't get me wrong he loves him some UT LONGHORN FOOTBALL! So this weeks challenge was relly hard for me to translate, so I went with an adorable card I saw on Pintrest and made my own version~
I loved the simplicity of this technique and the colors make it great for any guy or girl really. :-)
I used Night of Navy, Sahara Sand, Certainly Celery, and Baja Breeze card stock, Versa Mark Ink, White Embossing Powder, 1/4" White Grosgrain Ribbon, Square Scallop Punch, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Patterned Party, Baja Breeze Classic Ink and my handy Heat Tool.
Why don't you give it a try?!  Head on over and submit your Masculine Theme card or project!!
Thanks for stopping by toady and if you want to get any of the supplies from my project simply click the button below and shop to your hearts content!
Remember that for every $35 you spend you earn STAMPERS REWARDS!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BALLOONS

It's MDS Monday!!! I had a great idea yesterday when I was preparing for today's post, I bet a few of you (maybe more) are wondering what the REAL difference is between MDS (My Digital Studio) projects that are printed at home vs printed through Stampin' Up!'s professional printing service.  So we are going to look at some real life samples.  Here is the project I created~

I had so much fun making this layout.  I used the small oval punch shape and Calendar Kit brush set.  Oh and to make the little ends of the balloon I used the smallest heart punch shape and rotated it so the humps of the heart faced down.
Well I can tell you that with outside companies (such as Costco) colors are VERY different.  The TRUE color shades that coordinate with all my ribbon and inks can't be achieved through those companies. But if you have a good printer and plan on printing your projects at home you could get away with some pretty good copies of your projects, check out this comparison~
Can you tell which one was printed through Stampin' Up! and which one was printed from my HP printer here at home? Is my personal print job the one on the left or the right?
Well, the project I printed from home is on the right and the professional printed one on the left.  I think I am almost out of or running low on inks so there is a slight deepness to the reds and purples, but aside from that it is a pretty good comparison.  It is almost impossible to tell the difference. Now I will say that the card stock the Stampin' Up! prints them on is a great STURDY card stock, much thicker than the Whisper White card stock that is so great for stamping.  So if you have ever been deterred form trying MDS due to the notion that you HAD to pay to have your projects printed, DON'T WAIT- DOWNLOAD the FREE 30 DAY TRIAL of MDS NOW!! Play with it a little, it's not hard to use.

Proud Papa! (Or Mama)

I have something to share with EVERYONE today, I am so proud of ALL of my stampers that come to my clubs and classes! This weekend I had two of my club meetings and many of my stamping friends bring projects to share to inspire all of us there.  I was SO PROUD when I was eating dinner with my husband last night I got a txt from 2 of my stamping friends that wanted to share with me their projects they had created.
created by Paulina Camancho
She used Party This Way set (I will miss this one A LOT!!), word window punch, modern label punch, Whisper White card stock, Daffodil Delight card stock & Ink, Real Red Ink, and Pacific Point Ink
This is SOOOO cute, I am so happy to know that my class members go home energized and creatively inspired and make even more projects!!  Make me warm and fuzzy inside. :-)

created by Abby Griffith
She used Patterned Party Set, Basic Grey Satin Ribbon, Cajun Craze card stock & Ink, Basic Grey card stock, Old Olive card stock & Ink, Baja Breeze card stock & Ink, Whisper White card stock. OH and she used the crimper to create the texture on the paper strips. She turned this into a BIRTHDAY card rather than a fathers day card- and seriously it makes an EXCELLENT masculine Bday card!!!
 NICE JOB LADIES!!!!

What's YOUR FAV??

Spring time means warmer weather, flowers, rain (hopefully), more frequent mowing, water restrictions, and POOL TIME!!! But more than anything for me Spring is ALL about the colors.  I love the colors we see all around us in the spring.  For me (and this will be no surprise) MY FAVORITE SPRING COLOR COMBO has got to be the rainbow! I know, I almost beat this down to the ground BUT I like what I like and for me it's the rainbow.
I feel like it gives me LOTS of options.  I think that they all look SO great together, like one BIG happy family! There is SO much you can do with the colors of the rainbow too...
I always find it amazing that even though ALL these colors are SO different in hue and shade that they ALL still work SO well together! I guess that could be a kind of life lesson, huh?
Seriously I don't think I could ever stop using this color pallet.  I could go on for days and days...
Ok, so you have seen what "Spring" color combo I love most, now it's time for you to share!  Leave me a comment stating what your MOST favorite Spring time color combo is- in fact that would be AWESOME inspiration for me for some upcoming projects this week!  SO PLEASE leave a comment with YOUR favorite Spring color combo and you might see it used in a project coming soon!

BRAG About It...

HEY HO STAMPERS!! I am loving this adorable project that I created today.  It isn't any astonishing project, there are many like it- but I just love how it turned out! Take a look~

I love the colors and the style of the book.  I thought these would make adorable Mother's Day gifts for my kids Grandmothers.  I know I am late, but I won't see them until June so I figured I had some time. :)
I will be making the insert pages over the next few days and week, I have about 10 different layouts to create for this adorable book.  I think this turned out so cute and granted it is simple in design but I am attracted to more simple designs.
I used some BRAND NEW items from the NEW CATALOG~ Floral District DSP (NEW), Top Note Die (113463), Dotted Scallop Ribbon Punch (119275), 3/4" Circle Punch (119873), Petite Pennant Punch (122361), Letter It Stamp Set (122842), Daffodil 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon (NEW), Indigo Island Bakers Twine (122974), staples, Crop-A-Dile (available ONLY through May 31st!!)
Hope you enjoyed todays project

SIMPLY WONDERFUL!

Morning Stampers!! I have a little sneak peek for all my HOSTESS CLUB members... I made the invites to the HOSTESS EXCLUSIVE portion of my Hostess Appreciation Event/ Catalog Kick-Off Event coming up on June 2nd!  I decided to use the color inspiration provided by The Paper Players- we had to use Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Baja Breeze. Check it out~
I know, I know- I can't get over the Hello Doily stamp- I {heart} that stamp!!  I used VersaMark ink, White Embossing powder and my Heat Tool to create the focal image on a Poppy Parade card base.  I layered Delicate Doilies stamp images onto some Baja Breeze card stock with White craft ink, then used my 2-1/2" circle punch to get that circle shape. I took my Daffodil Delight ink and stamped the center image onto Whisper White card stock and punched it out with 1-3/8" circle punch. I then took some retired saffron ribbon and covered it with my homemade tinted dazzling details (tinted with Daffodil Delight).

There are exclusive details for each hostess inside these invites.  I will be posting FULL details of this event later this week, so keep an eye out for exciting news (I can't wait!!)
