I have a FUN card for you today, and it's not a fun card cause it has crazy colors or a funky technique in fact it's just the opposite.
I love the fact that even though this card is monochromatic it is dramatic. I love that you could use this card (color scheme or lack there of) for elegant occasions. not just things like graduation or wedding but a fancy or wonderful dinner party, or even a swanky baby shower! It can be a girls night out invite also, think outside the box.
I, of course can't do anything hardly with out a good amount of glitter! So I embossed this apothecary shape with my Chevron folder and then filled in the recessed areas with some BLACK TINTED DAZZLING DETAILS. I love the stamp set also, it is exclusive to demonstrators that went to Convention (but you also had to collect these secret phrases to earn the set). I LOVE it- it's called "I Am..." It has all these wonderfully uplifting phrases and sentiments in it- perfect for a little pick me up!
Here's the inspiration for this card: I used the color theme from Friday Mashup, the sketch from Clean n Simple Stampin, and the card size from the Cas-ual Fridays challenge.
Ok, so I bet your wondering WHAT I used for this card, huh? Well let me share :-)
Stamps: I Am...
Accessories: Black Taffeta Ribbon
While crating this card it made me think about a conversation I had a friend the other day, she needed some uplifting. I think that is why I LOVE what I do so much! My girl friend was telling me the other day (she lives in CO) that she is so frustrated with her franchise business and how badly it was doing. She was scared that she might have to declare bankruptcy- I was crying with her. I started to think about all the blessings I have had being involved with a company like Stampin' Up! I am my own boss, I have no overhead, no store front, no insurance costs, none of the stresses that usually cripple a small company or franchise. My girlfriend was asking me if being a demo is a viable way to make an income, and I assured her that if she worked as hard as she did for her franchise she would be successful! How could you not? She was fearful that she isn't crafty or creative and I assured her that you really, honestly don't need to be. I told her that her comfort level with people and her ability to relate to them and build relationships is really what it is about. I told her all I do is give women the chance to get together, slap paper together (yeah, I said it like that- but seriously we make beautiful cards but it's amazing how GAGA we are over paper, huh?) and be relieve stress. She has a hard chapter of her life to go through but once she gets through to the other side she is ready to take the plunge. She is ready to be in business for HERSELF and with SO much less to lose. Life is too short to NOT LOVE what you do, right?
