I am SOOOOOOO Blessed!!!

Hello Stampers!! I know that I am rarely mushy here on my blog, I mean honestly I am rarely mushy EVER ;-) !! But over the last few days (weeks) honestly I have been thinking about how unfair life is, and then I realized after going to many of the classes at Convention that I should SHUT UP and come to terms with the fact that I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO blessed!!!
So for many of you that don't know me on a real personal basis (hold on, you are about to) you may not know all the things that I have had going on in my life recently.  I am so glad to say that it isn't anything earth shattering, thank heavens- but when you are in a stressful and depressing situation it kinda feels that way, right? So in the last say 6 months I have had a lot of changes take place.  I have had to deal with my very BEST friend move out of state (this after I have been growing so close to her after brain cancer and a slew of other life issues she has gone through), I couldn't imagine what I would do when I needed someone to talk to- not being able to strut right over to her house and poppin' a squat.  Yep, she lived right next door... and on top of it all she just helped me be a better person all the way around, booohooo!  So yeah I did shed many a tear dealing with this "change".

I have also been in the process of trying to sell our other home in Colorado.  We have had it rented for a few years and because so we have not been able to sell it.  So after much thought and prayers we decided to have our renter move out and prayed that it would sell.  After it being on the market for not even a full month we got a contract, YEAH!!!  Then about 15 days later the buyers walked away from the house... Ugh!!!  I have had many a conversation with Heavenly Father as to why this house can't sell... see we have been making TWO mortgage payments and I have been slowly turning into a whiny brat making life miserable for ALL, I was the captain of the S.S. Misery and Woe- sounds fun, huh?

SO then August comes rolling around the corner.  This is now increasing my anxiety level because it's my Birthday MONTH and now it is time to shop for school clothes, school supplies, Dr. appointments.  There are additional expenses for my son as he has more than just regular physicals and then there is additional medicine costs with that as well.  We also have a funeral that we are attending, out of state... and I know that I should be trying to make this wind down of summer more enjoyable for my kids and family and all I can do is be sad that my friend is now gone and hear the sound of CHA-CHING over and over in my head.

Then I went to Convention with my Cousin Shannon, and man was that the pick me up I needed.  I learned so many cool things there and it was so nice to be completely distracted from all the things happening in my life.  Although if you ask Shan, she might tell you it was a day or two before I stopped complaining about my house not selling... she was about to get a new room!  I went to Bonnie Thurber's Class about Change and it was like I was the only one in the room.  It was so uplifting and comforting and really helped me get out of my poop mood.  On my way home it got me thinking... instead of being so focused on the things that are not going MY way in my life I should be focusing on the things that are going GREAT.  I started to think about all the fun and wonderful things that I now have.  I am so blessed that my husband and kids are healthy and happy (for the most part, if I'm happy every one's happy).  I am so glad that my friend Ashlie that she is adjusting well and beginning to feel better every day, she deserves the best!  I then started to think about all of the NEW friends that I have been blessed to make and get to know even better just over the past few months.  I had a wonderful turn out to my Catalog Kick-Off party and then started to realize that is what life is all about.  Spreading our wings and getting to know a ton of different people, and I think many times we are amazed at how all those new relationships change our lives.  I am realizing that I am SOOOOO grateful for all of my NEW friends that I was able to meet and find through Stampin' Up!  I am so blessed to have all these people to craft with and to become closer to, all thanks to a craft and hobby that I did for selfish reasons.  I then started thinking- man, if Shannon had not forced me to go to that first card class with her over 5 years ago I would NEVER had this amazing opportunity in my life.  So Shannon- THANK YOU!!!
I also wouldn't have the amazing demo friends that I have now and I wouldn't have the awesome experiences like Convention to think and reflect on.  It is astonishing how one decision or choice can change your life.  I am SOOOOOO blessed for the gift of Stampin' Up! It has allowed me the opportunity not only to meet new people but to make life long friends and have memorable experiences.  Plus now that I need a creative distraction not to mention the added income to offset our additional expenses- I have Stampin' Up! to thank for those 2 boosts as well.  Stampin' Up! has really stepped into those voids that I have in my life and I am such a better person because of it.
I share this experience with you for several reasons, the first is to hopefully help you as an anonymous reader get to know me a bit better- not to mention it is so therapeutic for me to put these thoughts and feelings out there.  But I also wanted to share this with you in hopes that it might change your life direction as well.  If you have ever thought about becoming a demonstrator but was hesitant hopefully my experience will help you realize that it is the best thing you can do.  I am so grateful to have a career that I LOVE to do, that I am fulfilled in doing.  It is so rewarding.  If you think that this is something that you might want to try let me know.  If you have questions, I would love to talk with you and help you get the answers you want.  If you sign up for nothing more than to have the camaraderie of fellow stampers then you will still get the added benefit of getting your products at a great discount. My NEW Studio Duds...

Good Evening Stampers!!!  Ok, so I know I promised a peek at my NEW stamp room months ago... and yeah, I am finally done with everything in there, for now at least.  I am still getting used to my NEW duds and although I didn't take a pic of this, but my NEW room is upstairs and there are 14 YEP Fourteen stairs to get up there. Yes, I am trying to LOVE all the extra leg exercise... not there yet.
So Here is the room as you see it through the hallway... from the mountain of stairs. I found these hutches on CraigsList for just $60 each.  They are matching and are in perfect shape... I took about a week or so and watched that site religiously for some eclectic or great shape items for my new room, and when I saw these I had to snatch them up!

So at the top of wither one I have my shoe boxes and my large keepsake boxes which are FULL of my Big Shot dies and parts... Then inside the shelves there are my Clear Mount stamps and my Big Shot, all my ribbon scraps and paints and then my slew of Tai Pan boxes.  I love the fact that I have enough of these boxes to make an even display along the 2 hutches.  I am so OCD!!!

Here is the other one, and yes it is perfectly matched... for the most part.  I have my wood mount sets, then my rain gutter ribbon display that I spray painted black to blend in with the furniture.  Then my matching boxes.  I know in this photo my ribbons look funky because the reflection of them is on the glass top table too...

On my actual crafting space I added a drapery rod on the side of my table to place my freezer paper to.  This is so easy and accessible for when I need to make an applique.

Here is a full shot of my hutch... I love that there are doors on these things, you would die if you saw how messy the inside of this thing is... whew!

Here is my center station.  I have my punch boards mounted to the wall, then below one of my two Ikea tables housing my storage drawers and markers and all.  Then under the table I have put my paper storage, which I love because they used to be under my crafting space and I ran into them with my feet all the time.  I love their new home!!!

Here is a full shot of the other hutch... I will say keeping the dust off these things is a task.  The black shows everything, dust, paper shavings and all.

Here is a close up of my ribbon storage.  These things are almost completely perfect except that my larger rolls of 1/4" grosgrain spools are slightly too large for an easy fit, but they go in well enough.

A closer look at my paper storage, I have to say that these things are awesome!  I roll them when I need them moved and then they hold SO much inside too- these were well worth the price!

So with my other Ikea table I placed it in front of my stamp space and that is where my kids can sit and get crafty when I am in my office.  I have a lifetime supply of Popsicle sticks for my son, that seems to be his favorite thing to craft with these days.  Silly kid, he's just like his Mama!

Here is a shot of my closet in the room... or is it??

Surprise!! When you open it you see my office space.  All of my WORK items are in here... although my computer is missing from this shot.  I was sitting on the couch surfing blogs right before these photos were takes :)  I have a spot for it there though... somewhere.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, I don't know about you but I love seeing stamping spaces from others... I love to move my rooms around so when I see a new configuration or another space that inspires me, I change things up a bit... I am moving rooms around in my house all the time, you would hate to be married to me.  Sometimes my husband comes home and doesn't recognize the home he has just stepped into. I hope you take a moment to pop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments too and share with us a cool project that you made this week...
DON'T FORGET that there are only a few days left to get that GREAT discount on the Stampin' Up! STARTER KIT for JUST $99!!!  The special ends on July 31st... don't miss out- click HERE to sign up and be on MY TEAM and get your FREE Christmas Keepsake Box project to boot!  I can't wait to have you aboard!  Thanks for stopping by and until next time~

HSS Flourish Forever Theme Challenge #77

Good Morning Stampers!!  Are you ready for another FUN project for this weeks HSS Challenge??  I loved this card, and I have to admit that I didn't come up with this concept all on my own... I know I hardly ever do.  This is an issue for me, with so much awesome inspiration all around me I rarely come up with my own. :-(
I was shown this layout by another stamper at a previous convention, can't remember which one though... I loved the use of the images and materials on this card... let's take a look see-

I used one of my FAVORITE sets Baroque Motif - LOVE that set! I have a Espresso Card Stock with a piece of Pretty In Pink card stock over laying, measuring 5.5" x 3.75".  I then used the scallop edge punch along the bottom of the Pink piece to add some depth to the layers.

I used White Staz-On ink on my Vellum top layer and it looks FAB!  It gives it a very soft and fluffy feel to the card.  Then before attaching the vellum/pink layer to the entire card I tied a simple sweet pink 1/4" grosgrain ribbon to the top, and yes it took me forever to get that bow perfect!

I hope you enjoyed my project this week, and hopefully it inspired you to go and be creative!  I hope you decide to share your creative Flourish Mojo with us at HSS- we LOVE checking out your projects every week!  You all inspire us to keep bringing on the challenges!

Don't forget that you only have a few days left to join my Stampin' Up! Team for a GREAT price- JUST $99, seriously!!!  I am hopefully going to be attending Leadership right here in the Alamo city in January and I hope that you are able to join me... wouldn't it be great if we could go as a TEAM?!!  Email me today to submit your Demo agreement to get on my team- I can't wait to have you!!!!

My NEW duds...

So Stampers~ whatcha' think?!  I did some messin' around today since I couldn't do anything else, "why?" you ask...  Oh, it's kinda funny.  I am SO sunburned from taking my kids to the pool yesterday, seriously for only like 2 hours.  I guess when you live in TX where it is 900 MILLION degrees outside you should lather on the sunscreen no matter how much or how little time you spend in the sun.

I digress, so I have been dying to create a cartoon of me for some time now- well I finally did today.  I think it kind of looks like me. :)  I did the rest of this design with My Digital Studio (MDS)~ Can I just tell you we learned some COOL tips and tricks with this digital crafting tool at convention.  YOU have to come with me next year- JOIN MY TEAM NOW and come along with me and take part in all the joy and craziness that is CONVENTION!!!!  Don't forget that only until JULY 30th your can get your starter kit for JUST $99- what a steal!!!  You don't HAVE to be a business minded demo, you can be what we call a "hobby" demo that just enjoys being a part of a FAB group (like mine *wink*) and getting a great discount on FAB products.

See What You're Missin'...

Happy Friday Stampers!!! I am having a FLORAL STATIONARY CLASS tonight, and you get a peek at what you are going to miss- We are making 8 cards and a pocket folder SO FUN!!!

These flowers are all die cut on textured card stock and then embellished with different border punches and other texture items... These are super cute, fun and amazingly easy to make.  This would make a great gift for any teacher or friend- who doesn't need a thank you card every once and a while.  Well I am off to prep for my class tonight and cant wait to take pics of my office space that is like 98% done... I hope to post those this weekend. Thanks for stopping by, and until next time~ TTFN

HSS Summer Fun Theme Challenge #76

Good Morning Stampers!! I love Summer- seriously, but I hate humidity and smoldering heat- confusing, huh?! Well let me explain... I love the things you think of when you think of summer, like swimming, beaches, and sun bathing!  If you know me well at all you know how I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sun.  but we are in a drought here in San Antonio and man would I give anything for a substantial amount of rain and a slight relief in this heat... I digress :) But today is ALL about Summer Fun over at Hand Stamped Sentiments-

This week I created a card that spotlights everything I love about summer.  The SUN, the SAND, the WATER, and the FUN that comes with it all! This has always been my favorite stamp set, although it is retired I miss it terribly- OH, SUN FUN how I miss thee!

I used some retired colors in this card as well- creamy caramel, ballet blue, whisper White, and more mustard.  I used these brads to create the center part of the flip flop, and NO I don't call these thongs... we all know what those are- yes they have a strap that goes in between something but it ain't your toes. ;)

I love to lift things up, I think it just adds such a cool effect on a card- so everything is raised up on this card for the most part. I made this card with these 2 pieces of card stock (ballet blue and more mustard) which come out and are blank at the bottom for a separate note.  This card would be a super cool invite to a beach party too!!  And yes, I threw the fishies in for good measure.

Thanks for stopping by today to see my project for this weeks challenge over at HSS- head on over to take a peek at the rest of the Design Teams creations.  Show us what inspires you about summer fun.  I have some new Convention updates too coming up later this week... man was that amazing and fun and I would love for you to join me there next year!  Wait till you see some of what we got to see and do- AMAZING!!!  Thanks for stopping by and until next time~ TTFN
