HSS Technique Challenge #69 Paper Piecing

Good Morning Stampers!!!! I am so thrilled to share this weeks project with you.  It is all about PAPER PIECING over at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  It is a technique challenge and all you need is some line image stamps and patterned paper.  It's as easy as that!  So lets take a look see at what I have!
I love to get double duty from my stamps/punches and dies.  So I love it when I can create something different from the items intended purpose.  This is the adorable lady bug card I made.

I started by wheeling the background of my card base and then the background of my focal strip.  Man those make quick work of creating texture on a card.  Then using some retired designer series paper and my oval and 1" circle punch I start to piece together the bugs body.  I used what should be s floral building stamp set, those wings are actually petal stamps for a flower :)
I cut them out and assembled my bug.  Super easy and I will make a tutorial once this crazy week calms down. Then I added 2 black brads for the antenna and with my black stampin' write marker I filled in the thinner part of the antenna.  Simple as 1,2,3!

I layered my rose red card base with certainly celery layered behind my whisper white focal strip.  Then I took my paper piercer and made a little bzzzzzzzzz trail for my bug.  I think it is just too cute how it looks as if it is buzzing off the card.

Then I wrapped the band with retired black gingham ribbon and attached my homemade tag to it.  I used a retired set for the sentiment, and punched it out with the 1-1/4" circle punch.  Then using my 1-3/8" circle punch I framed the sentiment with certainly celery punch shape.  I added a eyelet and BAM, you have a homemade tag- you never have to worry about running out of metal edge tags with this option.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks project, and wait till you see what I have in store in the weeks to come.  I am moving my craft room- AGAIN!!!  My current one is simply too small, so off we go to another room in my house and I have some awesome storage ideas I want to share.  It will take me a bit to complete, especially since the kids will be out of school, so bare with me. :)  Have a great week and until next time~ TTFN

HSS Memorial Day Theme Challenge #68

Good Morning Stampers!!! I am so happy to share this weeks project for the HSS Memorial Day Theme Challenge, I was so happy to offer this to all those service men and women that have served and are serving our country and those that have sacrificed their lives for our freedoms that we all enjoy.  So here is my attempt to show a tribute to them!
Here is the project that I made, I hardly ever use my wheels but I busted them out for today's challenge.  I stamped off my night of navy ink for the top layer of my card.  I never thought I would use this wheel again, and I LOVED how this turned out!!

I used my large and small star punches to create the center band to break up the contrasting card stock, I think it softens the center of the card nicely.  I used Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White card stocks.

I wheeled the bottom of the card too, using Real Red ink on Real Red CS, I love that tone on tone effect.  I think it adds a nice punch to the card.  Lastly I took my Fundamental Phrases and heat embossed the sentiment CELEBRATE with White Embossing Powder.  I love that technique SO much!!

I am so glad that you stopped by to take a peek see at my project today.  I can't wait to see what you create, pop on over to HSS and submit your creation today!! HSS Anything Goes Challenge #67

Good Morning Stampers!!! I am so happy to share with you this weeks project for Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge- Anything Goes!  It's all about SETS- any 3-D item and coordinating card- share your creativity too!

I made this adorable card and cute little box perfect for a votive candle, this is what I made for Teacher Appreciation and I hope the teachers liked them.

Here is a close up of the box, I used the retired felt flowers that I still have a million of.  I swear that I use these things all the time and they must multiply like gremlins when the container I have them in is closed... I never seem to run out.  I have used them for classes and tons of cards and still don't run out. :)

I got this box template from the Stampin' Up! Demo site, you get access to all kinds of cool templates and such when you are a demo. Want to join my team?!

I have a piece of acetate covering the circled punch area to make a cute packaged finish.

This little added embellishment was just a cute extra, created by the slot punch (retired) and 1/8" punch and then some added ribbon. Easy but cute.

Just as a finishing addition I included a little eyelet to the center of the flower for a little added UMPH!!! I also sponged the edges of the card and I love the look and effect that creates.

I hope you enjoyed this weeks project and appreciate you stopping by to check this out.  I hope you pop on over to HSS to take part in this weeks challenge and share with us your creations.  I can't wait to see what you share.  Until next time~ TTFN

Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Splash Challenge #66

Good Morning Stampers! I was so thrilled to create this project for this weeks HSS Color Splash Challenge.  The colors used for the inspiration are Certainly Celery, Pretty In Pink, and Bashful Blue.  I LOVE using my MDS and like last week, I had to use it again for my card this week.  I thought I would share with you the ENTIRE project when you create a card with My Digital Studio... it's SO cool!

Here is the front of the card and here is the kicker- when you create a card with MDS and you print it through Stampin' Ups! professional printing service (which by the way is WAY cheap now, cheaper than a card you get at Hallmark!!) you don't just get a decorative card front you can decorate all 4 layers of the card and the printing price is the SAME!!! Talk about personalized.

So I used a designer template from the software and changed ALL the colors, BUT it was great because it gave me a layout that I could manipulate and I was done in about 10 min.  Fast, I love that!!!  Oh- and I did a nest technique for the sentiment of this card, I am sure many of you are thinking that your sight is going trying to focus on that...it's not you it's me :) The sentiment is done with shadowing, I placed the same stamp sentiment over top of each other- one stamp is bashful blue, and the other is Baja Breeze.  Together they give the illusion of a shadow, such a cool technique and looks awesome with almost any line image. So imagine that when you get the card, the first image is of course the front of the card.

This second image is the inside of the card front- and you might as well decorate it since the price is the same either way- right?

This next image is the inside bottom of the card, you know the part you would normally write on.  Which is why I only decorated the bottom portion- so I would have room to write a sweet little note. :)
This next image is the back of the card, you can put any kind of image or "Created By" type of message you want to as well- or place a personal message, so you could print a ton of these out and put all your business info on the backs, since these cards are seriously inexpensive you could use these as a business booster!  I left the back as a stock image so you can see what they look like if you don't do anything to it.

I hope that you enjoyed this weeks project and thanks so much for popping by.  I hope that you come over to HSS to play along with this weeks challenge- we would love to see what you create!  Until next time~TTFN
