HSS To Die For Challenge #56

Good Morning Stampers!!! I have the latest Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge to share with you today and I think this will really get your MOJO going.  This week it is anything goes, as long as it is "To DIE For"!!  Make any creation using Die's, how FUN is that?!
So for my project.... My cousin showed me this project that she created after convention (or maybe a Regional event? cant remember exactly).  I thought it was so cute that I created a similar one for my club group a few months ago, and then I thought about it again for this challenge.  Lets take a look see what I did.

I made this adorable 8x8 page using chipboard, card stock, paper bags, ribbon and other cool materials for my page, with the help of my BIG SHOT and the dies.  I used the Serif Essentials die to create my letters.  Once they were cut I applied craft ink then heat set them to help them dry faster.  I used Old Olive and Whisper White craft inks. I had some of those round metal edge tags laying around and filled the center with a piece of Pacific Point card stock stamped with a snowflake, then finished it off with a rhinestone brad.

I used my 3/4" circle punch and some pacific point card stock to create this textured effect.  I placed some of them along the edge and trimmed off the overhang, I just love that look. I took a small piece of 5/8" grosgrain ribbon and flipped it onto itself and adhered it to the back of my photo mat.

I took a white paper bag and with my Top Note die, I created a journal area on my page.  I embellished the edges with my Pacific Point Stampin' Write marker.  I just love this picture- I miss how cute and chubby my kids were when they were younger.  I know you cant really tell from this angle that he is ALL cheeks but he IS!!

I hope you enjoyed this project and that you feel inspired to pop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to submit your creative project.  Remember it doesn't have to be a card or scrap page, it can be anything- a 3-D or gift item, the sky's the limit.  Lets see what you have to share.

Stay tuned, later this week I will have some sneak peeks on some upcoming class projects.  Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you again a little later this week, until then~ TTFN

Thong, Tha-Tha-Tha-Thong...

Good Morning Stampers!!  Ok, so maybe I am the only one who listens to base thumpin' music but admit it you remember that summer jam- THONG SONG!!  I couldn't resist the affiliation to my project, I call them Book Thongs. :)  I like a little crass with my crafts, every once and a while... hehe- if you only knew how hard I was laughing.
So here is another project I did some sewing on.  These were Christmas Gifts I gave to all my club members this last Christmas.  I had them packaged really nicely too, I should have taken a pic of that for you too.

Here you can see the THONG in action.  If you know me at all then you know how I hate reading.  So when I went to take this picture I had to find a book (larger than the ones my kids have) that I could use in the photo... the search was on.  Sadly the only large enough book I could find was a church manual, yeah I know probably inappropriate for the THONG.

I just took one of the flower dies for my Big Shot [sorry I can't remember the exact name right this second :( sorry] and using different complimenting fabrics I cut out some flower shapes. Then I stacked them on each other and sewed on a button that had the twine already tied through the holes.  I thought these turned out nice and they were super simple to make, which was good because I had quite a few to make. :)

I hope you enjoyed today's project and hopefully it will inspire you to get creative today. :)  Thanks for stopping by and until next time~ TTFN

HSS Sketch Challenge #55

Good Morning Stampers!!!  Today I am sharing my project for this weeks Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge- I think it is SUPER cute and fun.  I didn't adhere to the template too literally, but does that surprise you? It shouldn't, because I never do anything the way it is supposed to be done... I am giggling in my head.  Pop on over to HSS and check out this weeks challenge and the rest of the inspirations from the Design Team.
Here is the card I made for this week.  I know this has been a design seen a lot over all kinds of blogs and galleries BUT I just love the thought of making something with JUST punches and having it be something that it wasn't initially intended to be. :)  So here is what I did, and yes this is a SIMPLE card but it looks harder than it is- seriously!

I took the small oval punch and made a few of Pretty in Pink and one in So Saffron and then took classic ink in the Daffodil Delight and the Regal Rose and sponged the edges to create some depth.  I layered them and mounted them on a piece of Whisper White and then did some faux stitching with my Stampin' Write Marker in Chocolate Chip.  The flower petals are stitched in a White Singo Gel Pen- BTW those are by far THE best white pens you can find!
I stamped my sentiment onto a Whisper White CS piece and layered it BEHIND the base layer that had been punched with the window word punch.  A reverse on what I normally do when putting on a sentiment to a card.

I tried to give a few different layers and mats to this card, and the best part is that the card is not heavy.  Usually when you make a card with several mat layers the bard is VERY front heavy and has a hard time fitting into an envelope- but this one is SURPRISINGLY thin.
Here you can see how I layered the petals.  I used glue dots and attached three pink to the lower part of the saffron spacing evenly, then added two more centered between the three in front.  This gives you a great 3-D layered look.
I hope you enjoyed this weeks Challenge entry and my project.  I hope you take a moment to hop over to HSS and play along with us.  Use the sketch as a guide but you can replace the pocket design with ANY shape you want or create a CUTE project with the pocket, you have to see what the rest of the Design Team did for their projects!  Simply amazing!!!  Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time~ TTFN

Onesie, Twosie, Threesies- Galore!!

Good Morning Stampers!! Today I am thrilled to share with you a project that I made several months ago.  I made a baby gift for one of my club members.  I was so excited that she was having a girl, one- because it is kind of fun having a real life doll you can dress and two- buying girl clothes is just simply more fun!!  BUT the draw back to those things is that eventually those girls learn to talk and get an attitude one them, and then it is all downhill until they are old enough for those traits to be an asset. :)  I kid- but I will just say that my daughter has my genes for sure...

Ok, on to the projects... here is a group photo of all the ones-ies I made for her.  I thought they came out cute.  I actually messed up my sewing machine while making these but no worries- figured out how I screwed it up.

This one has a sewn on skirt.  I simply took some fabric and used the scallop square die for my Big Shot.  I made several and then cut them in half so they made a triangle shape, then sewed them onto the onesie.

Here is a close up for ya-

On this one I made some rosettes with the 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.  Then I attached the centers which are the Sweet Pea felt embellishments that were available over the summer.  These were sewn on by hand.  I also added some felt leaves behind the rosettes, thought that was cute too-

of course, a close up. :)

Here are some other felt embellishments that came in the kit, I laid them out and positioned them and then hand sewed them on.  These Sweet Pea felt embellishments made such a sweet gift.

And of course a close up...

I hope you enjoyed today's sewing projects, I don't sew well AT ALL but once and I while I can do simple things and thought I would share that with you today.  Thanks so much for stopping by and check in later this week for a sneak peek for my club projects coming this weekend.  Until next time~ TTFN

HSS Ribbon & Lace Theme Challenge #54

Good Morning Stampers!!  Well it's Tuesday and you know what that means??  NEW CHALLENGE!!!  Yeah! This week we are taking on the inspiration of RIBBON'S & LACE.  Hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments for this weeks details on the challenge and to submit YOUR creation!!

So here is what I made for this weeks challenge, and of course I am feeling the URGE to get my MDS fingers dirty, so....

I used my beloved MDS to make this cute card.  I just love how they have templates ready for us to jump off from.  I looked at like 15 different templates before I felt inspired to get creative.  I saw this one and  immediately knew what I could do to change it up and make it "mine".  I loved the background and the stamped image and I felt I could tweak it to say, "Erin" :)

I love how the staples look SO real and the ribbons and decorative lace look like you could reach out and touch them.  I love what I am able to do with My Digital Studio, you have got to try this!!!

I hope you liked my simple but sweet project this weeks Challenge, come over and visit HSS and submit your own creation for us all to LOVE!!  I hope you have a great TUESDAY and until next time~ TTFN

NEW Updates To MY Craft Room!!!

Good Afternoon Stampers!  I was looking at those photos from my craft room from my previous post a few weeks ago, and it totally bugs me when things don't coordinate and match to an extent... SO I had some changes to make in my room.  I decided that I needed my punches to be displayed or I tend not to use them.  So I started to think, and get those hamsters in my head BUSY!!!

FIRST, I painted all my little white storage drawers black so they coordinated better and the attention wasn't immediately focused on them.  I think now they just blend in and are seen as a cohesive part of the room.  I am still working on a storage thing that fits in my ink pad carousel that will hold my markers, so they are broken up in different color families.

Here is the new punch storage I created.  I have two, one on either side of my tables.  I bought a large piece of peg board and had it cut in half.  I painted them and finished them by adding ribbon along the edges.  I attached my Ikea towel racks. I had to attach a 1x1 strip of wood along the top and bottom of the peg board to allow me the ability to mount this to my walls.  I wanted to use these boards to prevent me from making a million holes in my wall, instead I have 4 holes- MUCH better.  Each board holds 4 rods.  I am making 2 more of these to put up on the opposite side of the room.  one over my sewing area and one over my photo area.  I can mount and store items I need for those areas RIGHT there- genus!!!

Here are the pictures that I made a while ago, I thought they fit nicely in between my punch storage displays.  Some simple frames, DSP, Definitely Decorative words, embellishments and BAM- art!

Here is the opposite side of my table with my other storage drawers are, and my color scraps and such. I was amazed at how quickly the paint dried and they don't even stick together, I took the top one off and no crackling sounds or anything!!

Here is a longer image of how the table tops look, yeah there are a few items that are out but I was in the middle of being creative when I took these pics.  I am going to get a few more of those Stampin' Up! ribbon holders and they will hang from my new punch storage.  Here is an up close of those fabric covers I made as well.  I think that I am going to get some zippers and sew those into the center to give a more finished look and to keep it closed better.

Here is the mess that I am hiding inside... ugh, when I open this I get depressed.  I hate the mish-mash and chaos that it appears to be in here. On the other side are all my stamp sets and cleaners.  My business items are on one side and the creative stuff on the other side

I hope that you liked today's update to my room, I am trying to make it more comfortable so that I am more motivated to be MORE crafty.  I gets super chilly in my room when its cold outside, so I did buy myself a space heater and plan on putting it to work this week.  I have a LOT of samples to get done before Saturday.  So until next time~~  TTFN

Romantic Color Theme Challenge HSS53

Good Morning Stampers!!! I am so excited to share with you the project that I have planned for this weeks HSS challenge. You should hop on over to Hand Stamped Sentiments and play along, we love to see every ones creativity!

So what did I create, well I did a little gift set that I thought was oh so romantic. :) Take a peek see and let me know what you think...
For me romantic and sexy are kind of lumped together and so this is what I came up with, the red is a little more sexy than maybe romantic but wither way I love the set!
These adorable tins are found at your local craft store in the wedding section. I took some craft ink (white) and stamped an adorable heart in the center. Let it stand for a few minuets and its dry and ready for the glitter. Apply some crystal effects and apply the glitter of your choice.
Check out how the glitter is raised off the stamped image.

I LOVE how this sparkles, SO cute!!!

For the card that coordinates with the treat tin I decided to make a shaker card. These are little bit of work but SO cute and TOTALLY worth the effort. I decided to use black card stock for my card base, then layered a piece of silver card stock and then finally Real Red card stock stamped with black polka-dot background stamp. I made a frame from black card stock and made it large enough for my wedding cake image. I added a thick layer of crystal effects on the cake layers and then coated that with dazzling diamonds- sparkle city!! I found this LOVE confetti at the craft store where I got my treat tins, they coordinate with the tin.

To create this technique you layer your dimensionals (I did 2 layers) and place them around your frame. Apply a piece of acetate to your frame to create a barrier for the confetti. Then adhere your stamp image to the card and then apply your frame piece to the card with the confetti inside. When it is all put together you can shake the confetti and you have a FUN but beautiful card that no one will believe that you handmade.

I crated this ring by taking a piece of my silver card stock and punching a 3/4" circle shape, then take your 1" circle punch and punch around the smaller punched shape. You are left with this ring. I placed the shape on my card and then attached the rhinestone brad just on top of the outer edge of the ring to give the look of a wedding ring.

I think this card says all things ROMANTIC! How fun to have this bold bright loving colors. I made this card for my Sister In Law and my brother for their wedding. Their wedding colors are red and white, a very sexy but romantic color pick- I think. :) I hope you enjoyed this weeks project for Hand Stamped Sentiments Romantic Theme. Hop on over and submit your project for this weeks challenge- we would LOVE to see what romantic means to you!
