HSS a Card and SOMETHING ELSE Challenge #39

Good Morning Stampers!!! I was SO excited to share this weeks challenge with you from Hand Stamped Sentiments- BUT first I have to give a HUGE shout out to my Cuz- Shannon, she had her 3rd little man on the 22nd!!! Congrats GIRLY!
Ok, so onto my excitement... this weeks challenge over at HSS is "a Card and SOMETHING ELSE" and since Halloween is just around the corner, I have been working on Teachers gifts. I was in HL yesterday and saw a pic of this project in a scrapbooking magazine and thought, "hey I have these cute tins that I made left over from last year, this would be perfect!" So I know you are dying to see what it is, DO not skip to the end :) it is worth the wait!

So first I have to tell you a little about the card, I loved this set when it was available (actually the alphabet set is retired too... sigh) But I made a version of this card before I ever joined stampin' up! at my uplines (Shelia's) house at a card class she had for us. It was SUCH a cute card that I recreated it for this season!

I admit that the ribbon is from the $1 spot at a different store- don't stone me... on my original card we used orange rick-rack- ribbon and I have to say that was WAY cuter than this but it is all I had.

Last year I decorated these tins, also from the $1 spot, using the rub-ons that we had in the catalog. I made the tags and then added the rub-ons directly to the tins as well.
Now, here is the FULL Monte for the project. I saw these candy tree's in the magazine today- I honestly can't even remember what the title of it was... I was looking at it while I was in the check out line and saw this, jumped out of line to go get the foam cones I needed for the project! Once you secure your cone into your base you simply attach the candy using straight pins in layers moving upwards on your cone. Once you reach the top you finish it off with ribbon or in this case I used curling ribbon. Easy Peasy. So easy that I made 9 of them, thankfully I have no candy left to pleasure myself with- you know what I mean, dirty birds!

Well I hope that you enjoyed today's project and I hope you decide to join the FUN over at HSS. We love to see your ideas, so play along! Until next time~ TTFN

HSS Packages and More Challenge #38

I was so thrilled to showcase a project that I made for this weeks challenge. I just love to make adorable packaging for gifts and trinkets. I hope that you head over to Hand Stamped Sentiments this week and play along and share with us your creativity, we love to see what you create!!!
I have several of these made for an upcoming craft show I have, and thought I would share them with you! These adorable triangle boxes are super FUN and easy. I first saw them at convention a few years ago, they were demonstrated to us by our Co-Founder and CEO Shelly Gardner. It is super simple to make and you can find a step by step tutorial HERE-
I also used a FUN technique to make this waterfall effect. I used the scallop edge punch and punched out two pieces of Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo and Rose Red. Then I layered them on top of each other and ruffled the edges. Super simple and I actually copied this look directly from our current Idea Book and Catalog!

You can see how the box opens, and I have packages things such as candy, bath balls, jewelry, and more inside these cute packages.

I hope you enjoyed today's project and stay tuned for the upcoming weeks, with the holidays just around the corner I have a slew of adorable things to share!!! Until next time~ TTFN

HSS Sketch Challenge #37

Good Morning Stampers!! I am SO addicted to my MDS (My Digital Studio) that I decided to use it for this weeks sketch challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments. I have paper pieces ALL OVER my office and crafting space because I am getting ready for a Christmas card class and my club meeting even later this week, so honestly I had NO space to even attempt a card made from REAL paper. :)
Here is the sketch that I chose from this months Stampin' Success-

This is the Designer Template that I started with from MDS, then I tweaked it a little here and a little there to come up with my finished project.

I used Old Olive, Elegant Eggplant, Pumpkin Pie, and basic black for my color scheme. I used the Eat, Drink and Be Scary stamp brush set in My Digital Studio. I just Love playing with this software and it adds a whole new dimension to my craftailities. You like that, I just made that up- at least I think I did. :)
I hope that you have enjoyed my project or today and I hope that you try a project of you own and play along with us over at HSS. We love to see all the great projects and creative ideas that everyone shares with us. Thanks so much for stopping by and until next time~ TTFN

HSS Color Splash Challenge #36

Good Morning Stampers!!! I am so excited to share with you the project I created for this weeks challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments. It is a COLOR Challenge- I just Love those! I have become so consumed lately by MDS (My Digital Studio). when I had to reformat my computer I got out of the habit of playing and using it, and you know... out of sight, out of mind. BUT I have been creating ideas for a new blog look and have fallen back in love with my MDS!! You have to try it if you haven't bought it you NEED IT!

So I created this adorable page from a book that I am working on, and decided to incorporate the colors we are given for this weeks challenge. Here they are: Pear Pizzaz, Early Espresso, Pacific Point, Real Red, and White.
I started with a template that the software comes with, since I am not great at getting the creative juices flowing- this takes care of that "crafters block" if you will. I changed up my colors accordingly and swapped out the embellishments for ones that coordinated with my photo and color scheme. And in about 35 minuets BAM, I was done. I love how simple and quick MDS makes crafting. I love the fact that I don't have to print off photos and pick them up at the store and catalog them all before I even start getting crafty with them. I have all my photos on my PC, and I just drag and drop them where i want them to be. Crop them in necessary and when I am complete I print out my book and it is delivered to my front door!
As my son would say, Easy Peasy! I just love having an easy button. Want yours? Click here to get it today! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed this weeks project. Come by HSS and submit your crafty creation and take part in this weeks challenge with us. We can't wait to see what you create. Until next time~ TTFN
